HOTSTART engine heaters maintain an engine's operating temperature during downtime and serve as an excellent cold weather or emergency starting aid while eliminating needless idling. HOTSTART TPS models circulate heated coolant using the thermosiphon principle, a method of passive heat exchange which circulates a fluid without the necessity of a mechanical pump. HOTSTART TPS engine heaters provide even heat distribution resulting in reduced engine wear, quick start-ups and reduced emissions. The compact design is ideal for locations that require minimal mounting space. Hooked it up properly (according to instructions), plugged it in, it circulates coolant, but does not heat well enough for North Dakota at 11 degrees.
