It is hard to find a wire stripper that can handle the small gauge wire. This tool works great!

As a long time model railroader, I have had a lot of problems stripping small gauge wires. My best wire stripper will only handle wires to 22 gauge. The Engineer PA-14 handles wire gauges in the low 30 gauge range. While more expensive than other wire strippers, this tool is well worth the money. I found it well made and definitely gets the job done.

I really like these wire strippers for thin wires. Strips wires very easily and cleanly, including PTFE/FEP wires. My Klein Tools wire stripper really struggles with those. It also has a lock to keep it closed when not in use, which is nice too.My only nitpick is the spring, I think it is too long and opens the handles too much in my opinion.

I purchased these strippers with a specific purpose in mind, rewireing audio tonearm. These use 32-34 awg wire to bring the signal from the cartridge to the phono preamplifier. The wire must be small enough to not inhibit the tonearm and cartridge from tracking the record as intended. I use generally milspec 34 awg wire, as the specs are generally higher than many arms are equiped with. The number of strands in this small guage wire I use vary from 7-17 to make up the 34awg wire guage. It's extremely mportant to leave all strands fully intact to achieve the desired results. Though I haven't wired a tonearm yet using these, I have stripped a couple different wires that I have and they cleanly removed the insulation with any damage that I can see. All othe strippers I have purchased,Klien , blue point and others are not built with the precision of these strippers. I'm thrilled and have, of and on tried to find this quality and price for the last 20 years. Well worth the asking price and I am daunted by working with small guage anymore. Thank you for making these available, maybe I clean off the work bench a get to work today!
