This thing is great. Its sharp. It does lots of day to day wire sizes. Saves me so much time rather than using a razor.

While I wouldn’t suggest using this product for large projects, it works perfectly for me. I can strip wire while I’m watching TV. Sometimes I will do other micro scrapping tasks, but I always have a pile of wire laying around. If I don’t have anything else to micro scrap while watching tv, I can always strip wire. It probably gets 5-10 hours of usage per week

A bit fiddley but once you get the hang of it is ok to use. Easy to go too deep and cause your stranded copper to become hairy.I'd of changed a few things had I designed it.The depth set screw is adjusted through the squeeze handle so it's a bit fiddley to adjust. The depth set screw is coarse thread so fine adjustment is difficult to achieve.I'd of not used a short Philips from the squeeze side, but flipped it to come from the bottom as well as made it a thumb screw. Even a textured Allen key head would have been enough to act like a thumb screw. For a layman copper getter, it does fine. Comes with a small pack of razors too so you don't need to order the spares off the hop.

The last 3 smallest holes are kind of useless for wires that small. The wires either move to the side of the razor therefore not getting cut. Or the wire binds in the hole and snaps off. Also, the back end of the razor is exposed so you can easily cut yourself. I put electrical tape over it. Comes with 3 extra razor blades. These are small razor blades not the conventional size you’d use in a utility knife. The larger holes for larger diameter wires works great. You have use some finesse with how hard to squeeze the device as you pull the wire through. But it does cut pretty smoothly. For the cost I think it’s worth it but you pay for what you get. If you’re going to do a decent amount of wire stripping I’d get something of higher quality.

Needs a rear guard for blade was poked good a few times and works better if blade is at an angle. It’s best to score the wires once and then adjust depth.

This thing is incredible. I used to Strip copper wire by hand, with an exacto knife. It made my hands hurt, So I splashed out and got a fancy dancy $237.00 Electric Wire Stripping Machine. I would have been better off feeding my copper wire into a shredder with that thing, it was messy and ineffective. So when I returned it, I went and bought this.LET ME TELL YOU, I stripped 4 days worth of copper wire today, and although my hands do kinda hurt, It's not as bad as stripping with a knife, and I did 4x the output!!!!! It is well built, easy enough to use that a fungus could strip wire with this thing, and 4x as effective as stripping by hand! Not to mention it was only ~$35.I cannot give a review better than this. This thing has quickly become one of my favorite tools.

The stripper itself is made of cheap material, and the compression system operates poorly. When you put the wire into the wheel you have to guide it into a larger hole than necessary, otherwise the insulation/coating has a habit of bunching and flaring out. The wire will also get caught in the wheel, this makes getting a straight cut difficult. THHN and similar Thermoplastic insulated wire will be difficult to strip. As an electrician and long time scrapper this product is not worth the money.

I purchased this product on Wednesday, March 30th and received it on Friday, April 1st. I was very excited to try it out because I was tired of using a utility knife and making a mess. I just tried it for the first time on some 12 AWG stranded alan wire with .015 thick PVC coating, plus a nylon jacket. Let me just say, I am very pleased with how easy it was to go through a bundle of wire. I don’t have any larger gauge wire to test right now but I can’t wait to see if it does as well on it. I can’t comment on how well this little wire stripper will hold up over time but I’m hoping it will prove to be one of the best tools in my shop, as far as my scrapping/melting goes. I would definitely buy again and recommend to a friend.
