The plastic that the item is made from in thinner than I expected. It remains to be seen how long this hook will last before it breaks.Next time I will spend the extra money for a steel boat hook.

I like that you can push or pull with the hook, and the ends are not sharp. I rigged up an old pool net and used its lock mechanism for this hook and it is perfect.

This is a great replacement hook for a boathook. The one that broke had a lot smaller cross section and was inserted inside the aluminum tube. This unit goes over the tube and is a lot more sturdy.The tip that broke was on a boat hook that had a lifetime warranty. I chose to replace it with this unit that has a larger diameter and will not break as easily.
