I bought this for camping in my RV. I use small canisters for my cook stove but I wanted & needed a regular style propane tank for my portable Grill/BBQ. This is the perfect size. It is lightweight so I can carry it easily and holds enough propane to use numerous times. Also a space saver in my RV!

First time use. This past week. Great for week long trips and a bit more. Happy with seller and product. Find the price to be a bit more expensive then it should be. However you are not seeing 5lb tanks on the market as much anymore. Which I don't understand. Was made in Thailand. Other then that value is good, fill was easy, and most importantly it is small.

I suspect most folks purchasing this 5lb tank are infrequent users of propane or are getting it for things like weekend camping. It's quite good for this. Some important notes if you're thinking about purchasing one of these for that usage, and don't have that much experience with refillable propane containers1. These containers must be purged before filling! They ship devoid of propane, and you need to expel the air inside and replace it with propane. This process requires specialized equipment usually...but later in this review I'll write a method for making your tank usable in a pinch.2. You must transport these upright, and ensure they don't roll around. Dangerous otherwise.3. Typical 5lb propane containers run between $40-70. Don't overpay. These are all basically the same. At time of writing there's a cheaper one from flame king.4. Mine arrived with manufacture date of Feb 2021 (arrived in May 2021) so only 3 months! Seems like others have reported up to 15 months old. Either way your tank is certified for 12 years so at (conservatively estimating) ~$10/yr in total cost, it doesn't really matter.Q: What if I already filled it blindly before purging?!If you already filled it blindly, you should try plugging it into a camp stove or whatever and see if you can get a consistent blue flame; chances are you can't. That won't boil water or cook food; you need to purge it.if you can't find someone who has the proper equipment (I live in the SF bay area and literally miles around -- there is basically nobody who will purge your container, only fill it) -- the good news is you can do it in a hacky way. What you need to do is get it filled with about half a gallon of propane. Or fill it all the way, that's okay too.The compressed air inside is lighter than propane, so if you leave it standing upright for some time it will mostly rise to the top. Now (without agitating it) take it to the middle of an empty parking lot away from anything that is flammable. Please don't smoke while doing this. Take a flathead screwdriver and turn the release screw. You should hear gas start to come out. Stand upwind of it and let it go for a few minutes. You can close the screw and feel the weight of the container to get a sense for how empty/full it is. You don't want to totally empty it, but get most of the propane you added out.Now go back and plug it into your stove and make sure it burns blue. If it does, you got out most of the air and you can go fill it up all the way. You probably wasted If you have more time, you can order a propane purge kit online. It usually takes quite a while to come though and will run over $30. Amazon doesn't sell them as of this writing.

Appears to be acceptable quality and auto pressure regulation works. Do not fill and then leave in vehicle in hot Temps because regulator will release gas and cause flammable situation that will light from static sparks. After cooking once, the pressure should be good so that it won't have to release gas to regulate pressure.

I'm an avid car-camper and this tank is perfect for use with a 2 burner camp stove. It is compact, not too heavy and lasts awhile. I hate using the small, green Coleman propane tanks which are expensive and wasteful. This tank lasts me about one month and is typically only $5-10 to fill at any place that fills propane tanks, including RV Parks. Be sure and get the correct connecting hose for a 2 burner camp stove.

These are great for RVs. Much cheaper than the little disposable canisters. This is my third as they do expire for safety reasons and have to be recertified. While traveling the only places I could find that would or could recertify them wanted a fortune. Some would NOT certify anything below 5 gallons. Same system, but funky rule. Others wanted almost as much to certify the tank as a new tank cost. Amazon had the best price and availability. These do not take up a lot of room which is nice when you don't have it to spare. I leave them in the shipping box and they do not roll around while traveling.

I had been using the small 1LB disposable propane tanks for my Weber Q grill and it was killing me to toss out the empty tanks. First, it is hard to find a place to properly dispose of them, then there is the eco-friendly thought of putting them in the landfill. Not cool.So I bought this small 5lb tank and an adapter hose that cost less to fill than one disposable tank and is small and light enough to fit amongst all the other stuff I carry in our camper.Only downside is the cost of the tank - it will take a while to pay for itself.

These little tanks are seemingly expensive for their total capacity. The average BBQ grill tanks are much larger and actually significantly less expensive. The upside is that this little tank is GREAT way to save on time, money, and space over the green 1lb throw away bottles.I have not purchased a green 1lb throwaway bottle since purchasing this bottle. There are two primary tank manufactures in the US; the other is not Manchester. I like the Manchester tank better for two reasons. In this case the small footprint and size is pretty much ideal. Secondly, Manchester folds the metal over for the ONE HANDED primary hand hold location on the bottle; the other manufacture requires two hands, or one severely distorted hand. Some propane locations don't know how to charge for this small size of bottle. Plan ahead.
