The difference between the cat.6 and the cat.8 in physical appearance alone is quite obvious, especially in a shorty, the stiffness can really be felt in the hand. The difference between real highspeed data transmission and all the rest is gob smacking, something one doesn't notice until the experience of 40Kgbps itself. I'm no I.T. guy by any stretch of the imagination, but the DIY stuff is quite educational unto itself. Most things are still stuck topping at 10gbps, the 'SS' superspeed standard. The difference in boot up time, page navigation, up/downloading, it's all about the data speed these days. As a beginner/novice builder/restorer, it hasn't taken me long to figure out how much is the same across brands, etc., and what actually stands out from others. One thing is clear, if the cables and cords can't manage the speed, it isn't going to matter much what the devices can deliver.
