Our original splash guard was about 15 yrs old & disintegrating. This one fits like the original, but I had to cut the hole in the middle larger to roughly the same size as the one it's replacing. Before I did that, the water was taking it's own sweet time draining. Now, it works just fine.

I needed a replacement baffle for my In-sink-erator and this one is perfect.I measured it to make sure this one would fit and it's exactly perfect, so I ordered a second one to keep on hand. All disposer baffles work to reduce splashing and keep food from flying out, but this one also deadens the noise significantly better than the one it replaced.Very happy with the product and the price.

My 25+ year old Maytag disposer's guard was falling apart, and I looked up the OEM part... $19.00! This sounded like it fit, and it did. It even solved the draining problem I had with the sink! The original guard would hold most of the water in the sink until I added a little dishwashing liquid to the water to facilitate the drainage. THIS guard lets the water drain freely and blocks the splash back completely! It sits snugly on the ledge in the drain, so it took longer to get it out of the package than it did to install.

We were looking for a splash guard to replace our original, which was difficult to clean and difficult to put back with the correct seal, and with its many folds began collecting the gunk shortly after cleaning. This one fit in perfectly. To ease draining, I trimmed the opening about 2 mm each leaf and along the side about 1 mm every other slit. Works well and I am impressed a week in! I am able to remove and put back easily, so anticipate cleaning will be a smooth process.

I would have easily given this garbage disposal splash guard 5 out of 5 stars, if it were not for the incredibly small opening in the middle that doesn't let nearly anything through. You (literally) have to force food that is larger than a piece of rice down with your hands. Not so fun, or functional.Alas, I found an easy fix for this reasonably priced (I bought it at $6) piece of rubber. If you see in the photos I have uploaded, I simply took a pair of scissors and evenly cut each flap, all the way around the piece of rubber. It gave it just enough room to let item through, but not enough to let your utensils and the like down the disposal. It amazes me that such a simple yet useful fix hasn't been implemented by the company yet. Maybe one day they will read my review and send it to the designers.

This Splash Guard replaces the functions of your garbage disposal's original black-rubber gasket, but without having to replace the gasket itself. It installs easily in one minute without tools.Your disposal likely came with a disk-shaped black-rubber gasket installed between the throat and body of the disposal. But over time, the gasket's "teeth" have broken off and the gasket is no longer effective. Replacing the gasket requires getting under the sink and detaching the disposal to get at the gasket. Fortunately you don't have to do this! The Splash Guard allows you to leave the original gasket in place, but provides the same functions as the gasket. It prevents splash-back, muffles disposal noise, and prevents silverware from falling into the disposal. It can also be removed easily for cleaning or future replacement. The Splash Guard is a black-rubber sleeve that fits snugly inside the throat of the disposal. There is an indented channel running around the outer circumference of the Splash Guard (see picture) that connects to the flange inside the disposal throat. To use this Splash Guard, your disposal should have a throat diameter of 3 1/4 (3.25) inches, and have a small protruding flange inside the throat where it meets the disposal body.Installation only takes a minute. Everything is done via the sink. You do not need to detach the disposal or any of its plumbing connections.Installation steps:1. If desired, carefully trim the "teeth" off of the original black-rubber gasket, but leave the ring portion of the gasket in place.2. Orient the new Splash Guard as a shallow cup and gently press it down into the throat of the disposal until it engages the flange.
