Solved a big problem because I didn't have a sound card with optical out, but had an elaborate post-production sound setup that required it. This fixed the problem. Inexpensively!

This is the only way to get your PC audio via a 3.5 mm headphone jack if your PC doesn’t have a built-in optical out signal. USB powers this effective converter, so it doesn’t require an additional power outlet, has a 3.5 mm input to your headphone jack and outputs a digital optical SPDIF signal. To connect to a Sonos soundbar, you will need the optical to HDMI adapter proprietary to Sonos, which provides a compatible eARC audio signal for your Sonos speaker. I purchased this to connect an old tv with no optical out port to a Sonos Ray - several others were vague on the nature of which way it would convert and this was transparent it converted analogue to digital.Well packaged and all cables included you will need. Took 2 mins from opening box to working perfectly. A lot cheaper than buying a new tv for kitchen with an optical which is very rare in a 27" TV. Connects to headphones 3.5mm socket and straight to Sonos Ray, worked perfectly and sound quality is great.A thumbs up for helping utilise older tech without need for replacing.

This is a handy analog to digital/optical converter to have for being able to run an analog signal to an optical input. Note that the limitation is it is for stereo audio, not surround - and is limited to 48K (DVD type) audio. This adapter is also helpful to break a ground loop noise, by breaking the wired connection, but only if you have the optical input to accept the signal. Otherwise, you'd need a digital-to-analog adapter to convert the audio signal back. Note that this has a 3.5mm/ 1/8" stereo plug. If you have RCA audio jacks, you'll need an adapter to a female 1/8" stereo plug or get a model for RCA inputs. 5 stars for being as advertised and a handy audio converter tool. It comes with an optical cable.

Debo reconocer que no tenía idea de que existieran dispositivos como este hasta que lo encontré en Amazon. En mi caso particular, me ha sido de muchísima ayuda, ya que lo utilizo para conectar la salida de audio de mi televisión a la barra de sonido. Hasta ahora, usaba bluetooth, pero siempre me daba problemas de conexión, y tenía que volver a emparejar los dispositivos constantemente. Gracias a este convertidor, me despreocupo completamente: ahora todo el sonido de la televisión se transmite de forma impecable a través de la barra de sonido.El diseño del dispositivo es sencillo pero funcional, y la instalación fue rápida y sin complicaciones. Además, me ha sorprendido lo compacto y ligero que es, perfecto para integrarlo discretamente en mi configuración de entretenimiento.Si tuviera que mencionar algo mejorable, diría que el cable óptico que incluye podría ser un poco más largo, ya que en algunos casos la distancia entre dispositivos puede ser mayor. Sin embargo, esto es un detalle menor que no afecta su funcionalidad.

Ich wollte von einem alten PC Musik in guter Qualität abspielen. Das Mainboard hat einen S/PDIF-Ausgang und ich habe das mitgelieferte Kabel genutzt um den Konverter anzuschließen. Für die Wiedergabe nutze ich ein paar kleine Yamaha NX-50 Boxen.Der Unterschied zum Signal direkt aus dem Mainboard zu den Boxen ist sehr deutlich hörbar. Viel besserer Sound dank ganz anderem Soundspektrum. Natürlich nur mit unkomprimierten Sounddateien wie FLAC oder mp3s mit vernünftiger Bitrate. Aus 'zu Tode' komprimierten Soundfiles kann der Konverter auch nichts raus zaubern.Der Lautstärkeregler wird von mir nicht genutzt, der Verstärker/die Boxen hängen ja erst dahinter.Wichtig war für mich das externe Netzteil da das alte Mainboard von meinem PC jetzt schon Probleme hat genug Spannung an alle per USB angeschlossenen Geräte zu bringen. Strom/Daten über USB für mich also ein Nein.Geliefert wurde ein Rückläufer, funktioniert aber einwandfrei. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

J'ai acheté ce convertisseur pour pouvoir y brancher un casque, vu que ma télévision LG ne proposait aucune sortie audio.Je l'ai donc relié à la tv via le câble analogique et l'ai branché via USB (toujours à la tv). La prise jack fonctionne très bien, le casque est parfaitement opérationnel, rien à redire. :)👍 Les points positifs :• Les différentes sorties et entrées proposées par l'appareil.‣ Ca permet de nous laisser une certaine liberté de choix, ce qui est appréciable.• L'alimentation qui peut se faire via USB, branchée à la tv, ou par prise.‣ Ca c'est vachement bien ! Si on n'a plus de prise dispo ou si on veut simplement éviter d'en utiliser une pour un si petit appareil, hop ! on connecte directement à la tv.• Le câble analogique livré avec le convertisseur.‣ Je me voyais déjà en train de débourser une dizaine d'euros de plus chez un autre vendeur pour, finalement, recevoir deux colis à des dates différentes. C'est pas souvent qu'on reçoit ce genre de "kit" alors je salue le geste.• Le contrôleur de volume.‣ On le sait, si on se sert d'un DAC, on ne peut pas régler le volume via la télécommande, il faut le faire à l'ancienne : lever ses fesses jusqu'à la tv (ou plutôt, jusqu'au boitier de conversion). C'est un peu embêtant mais c'est toujours mieux que d'avoir à télécharger je ne sais quelle application pour que ça fonctionne.Surtout que la tv ne me sert que pour jouer à la console donc...👎 Les points négatifs :Personnellement, je n'en ai pas trouvé. :p

Mi televisor plasma no se le oyen los auriculares cuando se esta visionando algo que no sea la tele TDT.Asi que hay que cuando se ve video, PC, entrada por USB o HDMI, hay que utilizar la salida optica para el audio.La opcion era comprar una barra de sonido y a partir de ahi, sacar los auriculares. Un despropósito.Con el convertidor lo he solventado en un cacharrito pequeño, muy portable, que queda en culquier sitio y con una calidad excelente.El audio es limpio, sin ruido de fondo y con una claridad y calidad optima.Cuando me acercaba para modular el volumen y tocaba el aparato aparecia un leve (muy muy leve) zumbido que desaparecia en cuanto dejaba de tocarlo. Entiendo que sera un tema de masa. LA cuestion es que se oye de fabula y me gusta mucho.El detalle de poder regular el volumen es lo mas util de todo. Ell ajuste es muy fino y se nota.Trae todo lo que se necesita: se puede alimentar por cargaador (lo trae) y por cable USB (tambien lo trae). Tambien trae el cable de fibra optica. A mi gusto es un poco largo, pero no importa, queda detras de la tele y no se ve. A otros el exceso de centimetros les sera muy util, asi que ya me parece bien.Lo recomiendo.El envio fue muy rapido y correcto, como casi siempre en Amazon
