I needed a short sturdy hose to replace my hose reel connector and this looked like it would fit the bill. I was wrong, but that was my bad. I needed a female to female hose. I did test this though and it’s very sturdy and doesn’t leak. I’d be delighted with it if it fit my needs.

Ok, so I got this small hose to connect my sprinkler system Tee to my house faucet. So far, this has been an excellent choice for this. It is on my east side, so does get morning sun (& UV). There is ample length (they come in a variety of lengths). It does not kink and it is dog chew proof :D. It is a smaller diameter hose, so just know that is what you are getting from the description. I also have some in the 24-25 ft lengths and they coil up to very small diameters, don't kink, but will tangle - if they do, they are super easy to untangle. They also come with a packet of 3 hose washers. Nice deal, great for my application and the hoses don't get incredibly hot when left in the sun either (like black hoses do).

I have owned a similar stainless steel hose for at least three years and have found it to be strong and durable but lightweight and easy to maneuver. The stainless steel exterior protects the latex and PVC interior hose within from damage. The exterior is nearly indestructible allowing you to drive over, walk over, pull around corners and drag through rough terrain without puncturing or scuffing the hose leading to premature failure. The hose ends have a reinforced protective sheath that helps defeat a common point of failure. The hose is very flexible and doesn't easily tangle and is resistant to corrosion. This should be considered for light to moderate usage as the water flow through this hose will not be on the same level as a heavy duty hose which has an internal diameter of 5/8 inches. This works for general lawn and garden use and is perfect for watering your plants. The hose is relatively easy to store and while is doesn't expand and contract much, its lightweight and tangle free nature makes it easy to handle. These hoses almost certainly cannot be repaired but at this price point I don't believe this aspect should be much of a negative.I am using this shorter length to bridge between soaker hoses in my various raised planting beds. I am burying the hose without fear that foot and wheelbarrow traffic will damage it. The hose comes with additional washers. The hose did not leak when checked and should last for a few years.

I got this hose to be the connecting hose between an outside faucet and a manual winding hose reel box that was close by. For this purpose, this stainless steel hose is just about perfect. When I screwed on the two ends of the hose to the faucet and the inlet on the hose reel, the seals were snug and water tight--no leaks, not even a drip after over an hour with the faucet all the way open and the far end of the hose reel shut (keeping all the pressure in the hoses)! The two black plastic strain guards on each end of the hose can be easily unscrewed from the hose connector and slid away from the end of the hose (see picture) in case you're using the hose in a tight space or need the hose to curve a little more than the strain guards would allow if they were not moveable. The notches in the lower half of the strain guards allow the hose to bend/flex more than if the guards did not have them. This is a helpful feature, too.The two end connectors look to be brass and are well-made. They make for very secure connections and the rubber washer in them seals the connection tightly. It is really great that the hose comes with 4 extra washer, as that is invariably where the hose will start leaking first. As long as you don't misplace the spare washers, these hoses should remain able to be leak-free at the connectors for years. The hose itself is surprisingly light weight. I was expecting this 6 ft one to be a bit heavier. But the stainless steel cover is about as thin and as light as the hose on a shower wand. It appears to be reasonably strong, as I could step on it, and it did not deform. That's not to say that if you stomped on it it wouldn't deform, but who'd really want to stomp on a hose they just bought just to see if they could flatten it and make it useless?I don't know that I'd call the hose kink-free, but given the 6 ft length, it's pretty hard to get it to a point where it might kink. If you coil it up and then take one end and walk away with it, the hose may make some of the coils tighter. I could see if the hose got caught up in a tight space with a loop in it and you just yanked on it, you might put a crimp in it. If you did, I don't think you'd be able to do a very good job trying to remove that crimp, so your hose would probably have a permanent "bend" in it.But, certainly for a static use (like connecting a faucet to a washer or to a hose reel) where you're not going to be moving the hose around, this hose is ideal. it allows plenty of flow through the hose, it won't collapse if a brick or board is laid across it, and it is unlikely to get a blister and spring a leak because of the steel casing on it.If you want to use this more like a regular hose, then you are probably better off getting a regular hose, because it's just not as 'supple' as a rubber hose and can be a little bit harder to wrangle.I'll update this review in a couple months if the steel starts to rust or have other problems. But, so far, so good!

This garden hose is 3 feet from end to end, meaning after discounting the less flexible section where the plastic supports are wrapped around each end, you're left with about 2 feet of moveable, flexible hose. This is going to work for my purposes, but be aware if you need something with a longer reach. One end is male and the other is female in what appears to be copper and so far, no kinks or leaks. I put a quick-connect adapter on one end so I can easily take it on and off my outside spigot where I use it to rinse off shoes after tending to my chickens. The price is decent given its sturdiness and the material it's made from, suggesting it will have good longevity.
