I actually got these to use as cheese cloths. And they’re big! (See photo for size comparison with a hand.)But the consistency is perfect for kitchen straining in general, and the size makes them versatile for many uses. We can use these for making cheese, straining coffee, homemade yogurt, and home brews. And while I use them for large-batch cheese-making, I have no doubt that they would work just as well for any of the other functions. The package features two of the big bags, each with a drawstring. These are a simple, but incredibly useful, solution for our kitchen and I’m very pleased with the purchase!

Well hallelujah, the world is remembering what rolled edge finishes with a double stitch are. These bags are huge. The fabric feels like a good quality nylon mesh. It isn't going to split or burst if you squeeze whatever you are using it to strain.I posted photos to hopefully show how fine the mesh size is. Only the finest sediment will pass through. The sides of the bag are finished with a rolled edge and double stitching. These seams should be able to withstand normal pressure and somewhat rough handling without separating. The bottom of the bag has no seams to burst. You could easily stitch the bottom if you ever did get a tear though. The top of the bag has a drawstring and a sliding bead closure that locks where you adjust it.I am going to try these with cheese, too. The mesh is much finer than cheesecloth.I like these well enough that I may consider getting more. I can see my husband commandeering these and a disruption in the marital bliss as we both brew and ferment and infuse our own things.
