I purchased one of these as well another more well known, yet more expensive kit. Out of the box, this one completely out performed the other one. The down side I is I have not been able to connect via tuning software as I would like to adjust the missed step threshold. This is not good. The other connects with no problems and with some tuning performs equally as good after tuning. I had decided to order a few more of these but, when I went to order more the price jumped and is no longer at a price point, that makes it worth getting without being able to connect to tuning software. I reached out to the seller with no response. This is 4* because of no support and it’s not an exceptional deal as my first purchase was. However it is a nice strong motor/driver as long as you don’t need to tighten up the parameters that control the missed steps error. Personally I want it error faster than it does.

The motor runs more than twice as fast as a non closed loop 3NM stepper as long as the power supply has 56V. It has a lot of torque and am pleased using it on my lathe electronic lead screw. It is easy to substitute this setup for a non closed loop stepper.
