I purchased a set of these 2 months ago and loved them. Decided to purchase a set for my wife and they arrived used, broken, and rusty. The originals are made of metalsl, these feel like plastic. Very disappointed.

I bought one of these pruners a couple of years ago, have used it heavily and it still works perfectly. It gives about 3x mechanical advantage owing to the ratchet mechanism, so even I, as I near 80, can still cut through branches up to one inch with ease. As an anvil type pruner it doesn't get jammed up by bits of bark like my bypass pruner does. Use the EZ Kut for lopping big stuff and trimming dead stuff. Use the bypass pruners for live plants and softer material. I just bought a second EZ Kut for the times when my wife is using mine.

I really like these pruners, they cut like butter. I have used other brand ratcheting pruners, these are by far the best. They take less effort to cut larger limbs.

My brother gave me a pair of EZ Kuts well over 10 years ago. They are hands down one of my favorite tools for yard work, hunting, fishing, camping, etc. Cuts through large branches with ease. Ergonomic. Fits in a back pocket. Had never required maintenance/sharpening. Great to bring hunting to quietly trim branches for lanes and also blinds. I've dropped them 4 miles into the woods before and went back to get them. I ordered a pair for my son for his birthday. I'm happy to see that the design and quality haven't changed. Thank you EZKut.

Very sturdy, cuts well, well worth the money. Haven’t run into pruning problems.

These have been working well for my yearly prunings.

This company who supplies the EZ Kut Pruning shears, has been in business since 1988 so I was comfortable purchasing from them. I actually preferred a different color, but the green was the least expensive. Accidentally dropping this pair in green bushes might be an issue to locate them immediately but so far, so good. These are heavy duty but with less hand power to work them. My arthritic fingers are happy with these. So far I have been pruning about 3/4 inch and less. These have the largest cutting ability and go up to 1.5 inches. Try a pair!

These shears are the best I’ve ever owned! They are sharp and cut through anything that will fit within the cutting section. I was also pleasantly surprised at how lightweight and high quality they were! I paired them with EZ Cuts shear sheath and it’s an amazing combo. I utilize these for hunting and having a high quality set of shears easily accessible within their sheath has been a game changer! Definitely purchase from this US owned and operated business, rather than cheaply made overseas competitors!

Update: It lasted five months almost to the day, after what I consider moderate use. Today while I was pruning, the rivet on the ratcheting mechanism broke, rendering the pruner useless. That's less than one-sixth as long as the cheaper Gonicc that I bought this more expensive pruner to replace, in hopes it was better made. Why on Earth don't these manufacturers use stronger metal for the rivet??? It's a tiny part of the device. Surely a more durable alloy for this minuscule part wouldn't make it cost significantly more.I bought this model to replace my second Gonicc ratcheting pruner to break on me, hoping the more expensive EZ Kut model will last longer. I loved the Gonicc — easy to use, a comfortable fit, with a very convenient and easy locking-unlocking switch — but the rivet on the ratcheting mechanism broke on each of them after about three years of use and there's apparently no way for a person without special equipment to replace the rivet. I tried replacing the rivet with thick wire, but its performance was unacceptably poor. After a few days of use, I can report that this EZ Kut does its pruning job well and is a good fit for my large-size hand, even while wearing leather gardening gloves. The locking-unlocking mechanism, however, is NOT easy to use. With the Gonicc I could lock and unlock quickly with my thumb on the hand I use to prune, turn the pruner upside-down, and pocket it with ease, all in one smooth, fast motion, sort of like a gunslinger in a western movie holstering his gun. With the EZ Kut I have to stop everything I'm doing, use both hands, and struggle to get it unlocked. Locking is a bit easier. I hope to get the hang of it soon. As to whether the rivet (and other parts) will outlast that of the Gonicc, time will tell.

These shears work quit well and do the job I asked them to do. Have had no issues using them at all. They can handle a sizable cut and are strong and easy to use.

I rated it so high as the delivery time was excellent. This is a Christmas gift so have no idea if it is a good purchase or not, certainly looks OK.

I don't know why non-ratcheting pruners are on the market when these types of pruners are so much more superior.
