The $12 matte screen cover from Amazon TOTALLY worked!! We got a new HP laptop recently and the glare on the screen was so bad that I wanted to return the laptop.I added the matte screen cover and our laptop has NO glare anymore and it's so thin, you cant see it or even tell that the laptop wasn't made that way!It was a little confusing trying to figure out how to install it, but once I figured it out, it went on great. There's only one tiny air bubble I couldn't get out, but you can't even see it when the laptop is on. And since it was a 2 pack, I could replace it if I wanted to.Oh, and the touch screen still works perfectly fine. I'm SO glad I got this!Unfortunately, Amazon isn't letting me add a photo (can't figure out why), so I can't include one showing that there's no longer a glare on our laptop screen.

The first thing to note is that this is not the same as a phone screen protector. It does not offer anything in terms of protecting your computer screen from a fall. This is actually for anti-glare and anti-scratch purposes.The second thing to note about putting this on is you will need a lot of time. Making sure your screen is SPOTLESS and making sure the protector goes on smoothly can be extremely time-intensive. Especially if you are doing this alone. For best results I highly recommend a partner-in-crime.The biggest issue with doing this solo is that there are no alignment tools AND the protector bends easily. If you use the adhesion stickers like how you're supposed to (one on each of the vertical edges), then the protector will definitely bend on both horizontal sides when trying to put it on. It is extremely easy to mess up putting it on because of misalignment and/or bubbles. You MUST put it on with minimal redoing because the adhesion will wear down.It does a decent job at preventing screen glare. It isn't amazing, but it's a very noticable difference. However to compensate, the there is a pretty noticable difference in screen brightness. You will also have to touch slightly harder if your screen in a touchscreen.As others have noted, the screen protector is about 1cm smaller than the full 15.6". Also getting this off is an absolute nightmare so if you put it on, don't think about taking it off.Overall, this screen protector is very average.

Totally unusable. Impossible to apply properly using the instructions. The dust removal sticker damaged my laptop screen! And the cover was filled with literally hundreds of air bubbles once applied. I spent 20 minutes trying to scrape them all out, to no avail. Also the film attracts so much dust from the air that it's impossible to apply clean, no matter how clean your screen is. Totally unfit for purpose. Returned for a refund.

Put these on two Dell laptops, both worked out well. "Anti-Glare" isn't a 100% cure for glare but it makes it a smoothed "hot spot" of light for any glare instead of a distracting hard-to-see detailed, sharp, mirror-reflection of whatever is behind you. This is similar to a traditional flat-screen monitor before everything became high-gloss and touch-glass. You can see in my photos that the overhead lights still cause a "bright spot" but where the screen protector covers it isn't a sharp reflection like the edges of the display and it doesn't have a mirror-reflection of the fan and light-fixture like it did without the protector (didn't think to get a before-shot). Anti-reflective would be a better description than anti-glare in my opinion but it does exactly what I need.Here are the two machines I applied these to:Dell Precision 3510 - being a 15.6" laptop it fits but just barely. This was really hard to put on mostly because the screen protector is exactly to-the-pixel the size of the screen so it shows even the smallest miss-alignment. I think it would be far better if they made it about 1/4 inch bigger in both directions so you have a bit of a margin for error. In the end though it worked well, it fixed the issue I had at work of the touch-screen glass reflecting distracting light coming thru the window-blinds behind my cubicle and I can now see my screen easily.Dell Inspiron 13 7000 - being a 13" computer this one required cutting down a bit to fit the width but was short enough height I could simply apply it below the webcam without issue. Being oversized made it much easier to apply, I put it on so it goes past the LCD by 3/8 inch or so where it's the touchscreen glass black border.Now a few notes on using this...To apply it without bubbles is the same as any other screen protector, the trick is you have to get the glass perfectly clean before applying it and you only get 1 shot. Before you remove the backing, test-fit it holding the protector against the monitor to get an idea what you're up against and cut down if needed. Then I use rubbing alcohol and/or distilled water on a paper towel to remove oil, smudges, and dirt followed by canned air to remove the dust. It's also important to do this in a minimal dust (and minimal air flow) environment. Pets, fans, other people, and anything that moves will stir up dust and make it harder to apply without bubbles. I used a spare bedroom that is currently office/storage and did it on the side of the room away from the air-conditioning vent.For the bigger computer, I set my computer to have a full-screen white blank image so I could see the edge of the LCD easily to align the bottom edge of the protector. Peel back a couple inches from the bottom edge of the screen protector being careful not to touch the adhesive backing at all. Now align the bottom edge of the protector you just peeled off with the bottom of the screen (or touch-glass if you have overlap) and allow it to start adhering along the bottom 1/2 inch or so. Try to go smoothly, stop immediately if you have a bubble and gently lift to remove any bubble and run your finger firmly to re-apply where the bubble happened. Repeat until you have it smooth and bubble free along the bottom edge. Now begin working the backing off a small amount at a time as you guide the protector onto the screen repeating the process. Go slowly to avoid trapping air and forming bubbles and immediately stop and apply gentle lifting force if a bubble occurs. When you reach the last couple inches at the top of the display begin working the backing off on a diagonal so you will end up with the final part to apply being in the corner. Then at the end, peel the last of the backing off while trying to gently smooth it onto the last corner in a smooth motion, hopefully without creating a bubble. If you do end up with a bubble in the corner you can try to "rub" it to the edge but don't attempt to remove the protector as it will damage the adhesive and make it look worse than the original bubble. Finally, remove the secondary clear film from the front of the screen protector and admire your work.
