I found out the original switch on my camper didn't work. It was pretty rusty. I replaced it with this one and my trailer brake system works as it should again.

Since all trailers exist solely for the purpose of saving time. Safety is the number one priority, when it comes to towing a trailer. If your trailer is not properly maintained, it creates a sterotype that ruins the experience for everyone.

This is a good replacement for an old, damaged or new build if you need a break away switch. You hope you never need one, but I have had a trailer come off going down the Interstate, road side railing stopped the trailer with fender damage. Check and change your breakaway if needed before this happens to you.

Came with good instructions and installs exactly like the factory one I replaced. Appears to be higher quality than the factory one on my Jayco camper.

This switch and cable is well made, it installed easily and function tested well. The only issue is that the cable length seems to assume the cable is 100% fully extended, so the 4ft cable I bought is just long enough for my trailer which has a typical distance to the truck. To overcome this, I relocated the switch closer to the hitch point so that the cable is only 50% extended during normal operation. I recommend that most people will need the 6ft version of the cable.

I put the new controller in exactly the same place the old one was. The red spiral stretch cord does not stretch far at all. I would have had to mount the whole controller almost on the tongue for it to have reached the hitch on my truck. I ended up buying another cord that will reach my truck. It is a very sturdy item and appears well made otherwise. Made this an expensive replacement but obviously a necessary one.

This was easy to install. At a good price. With its intended purpose I cannot speak of yet, Since I do not want to test it.hopefully will never be needed

Perfect for my needs. Hopefully it holds up. Read a lot of reviews suggesting the 6 ft version but the 4ft cable worked well with my tent trailer and f150 combo.
