This is a must have for a musician with a nice Dynamic Microphone. Enhance the volume while retaining all clarity. This is the first "Cloud Lifter/preamp" I've ever owned that works for Dynamic Mics, and all I can say is wow!Thie build quality is very premium and has some weight to it. You will need more than just this device out of the box to get it all set up. You will need an Audio interface, which you can pick up a decent one for around $50 and then a couple XLR cables that are also very cheap, maybe $10. So you run the cloud lifter from the Phantom power and then the Microphone is attached at the other end.Works perfect! I unfortunately cannot compare it to the name brands but I would assume this one is just as good in every way.You will not be disappointed!
