I have had mixed results they can sit in the keg weird and give you all foam. I had read about putting stainless steel nut around the tube to weigh the tube down under the head, and that worked but after the first beer my nut was tarnished and I'm not sure it was 100% stainless, might look for other options to weigh it down.

They work... but you need to add a little extra weight for the tube to sit below the wort / beer. Some say they use a stainless steel nut for this but every "stainless steel" nut I've purchased has some kind of chemical reaction to starsan. None of my other "stainless steel" does this. Something to keep in mind.I use one of those "key-rings" that you find on a cam lock - those are 100% stainless steel, no reaction to starsan and just enough weight to get this dip tube working. So... after years, why is this still a problem Ferroday????

There are several floating dip tubes on the market. Some have dull metal balls that appear to be two halves pressed together with a ridge that goes down the middle. This ridge can make cleaning more difficult. Some others screw the small eyelet that attaches to the metal tube directly into the metal float, which could allow liquid to get inside the float and mold - very unsanitary! This float has none of those issues and is smooth, making cleaning easy, and the eyelet is welded to the outside of the float which eliminates any ingress of liquid into the float. I also like that they include the short metal dip tube which is needed to connect to the ball lock post.

Feels pretty solid, fit into my torpedo keg perfectly. I have a 2.5 gallon keg so I had to cut the tube shorter but was really easy to do and installed really quick! And itβs a great price!

The first time I tried this, it delivered only air and no liquid. The trick is to put two 3/8β stainless steel hex nuts over the tube connected to the ball, then put the hose on. That keeps the tube vertically submerged. They should include these with the product.
