The carbide tipped Solid Surface/Laminate blade for the Kapex Miter Saw is a long-lasting, high cut quality blade for laminate flooring and solid surface countertop material. The Solid Surface/Laminate Blade incorporates an offset tooth design known as MATB (Modified Alternating Top Bevel), allowing the blade to cut alternately to the left and right, generating a more efficient and cleaner cut. This tooth shape is ideal for cutting solid surface materials, plastics, and materials with hard coatings such as laminate flooring. The thin kerfed blade design meets less resistance, for more efficient cutting, and produces less material waste. Laser cut expansion slots reduce vibration for faster, quieter cutting. Blade was basically dull after installing about 1200 sqft of laminate. Not what you’d expect from a festoon blade. Disappointed.

If you own a Kapex, blade choices are somewhat limited. I tried a wood cutting blade made by another manufacturer but bored out for the Kapex, and the overall OD was smaller. A Kapex compatible laminate blade is available, but the cost difference isn't significant.I have used Freud laminate blades in a different saw, and the cut quality is no match for this OEM Kapex blade.Over an 800 sf 8mm laminate install with plenty of cuts, the last cut was as good as the first cut. Almost no chipping when cutting face up.If you own a Kapex and do laminate, this blade is an excellent choice.
