Great quality, good value. We fish often and this saves the interior of our car with the ease and convenience of retracting.

Really liked it for 5 minutes: extends really far, folds nicely for storage, corners on net make it great to get into tight spots.Kind of liked it after the first: not always easy to extent or lock length, sand is its enemy, some time the net would hyper extend, flexed a lot when full extended to the point that it started to permanently bend.Used less after the second time: net snapped from the pole, cheap plastic with no metal supporting it within where the net connects to the pole.If you’re looking to land minnows and not scoop head into the water you might be fine. If you’re using it for another practical purpose avoid it!

I was excited about this net to start with, the ability to fold it up was pretty unique and would help me save some space. After my first trip I was having second thoughts about my purchase. First off, the handle is so large that it will not fit in a standard vertical rod holder on my center console leaving me to stow it exclusively in the floor. Second, then I attempted to net my first crappie I realized the netting floats and makes it difficult to get under the fish to net it. Once I got the fish in the net I noticed it was like a whole arm length deep. It also gets heavy trying to net a fish while holding the fishing rod too.No doubt it's a solid construction. I'm sure it will last a long time, but the weight, handle size, net depth, and floating netting make it difficult for me to use by myself.

Got it promptly in the mail.I'm using it for crappie fishing .Don't intend on using it for anything but crappie .Like the way it folds up. I think it will work well for my intentions. If you're looking for a heavy duty net . This probably isn't it when it is extended out .Net size is bigger than I thought it would be.When at shortest length it appears to be very sturdy for regular fishing .Not a striper net by any means .Best use for fish less than 5-6 lbs .

This is a really good quality net! Price point was quite good as well. Works great for Red and a small 30” shark. Rubberish net seems to hold up as well. Handle length is very good and fully extended hold a 10 lb red quite well. I don’t think I would try to lift at 90 degrees as it may bend but we pulled onto the fishing peer at a 45 degree angle and tit worked great. Net side will accommodate fairly large fish but no monsters. Overall I was pleased and I believe you will as well, IMHO.

I looked for an easy-to-store bird net that I would use very occasionally to catch my hand-raised Starling. It needed to have coated netting that wouldn't catch his nails, and be deep enough to allow me to turn the frame 90* to contain him. The design with the flat side seemed preferable to the round because I can place it for him to fly in rather than me trying to catch him. The latter could injure him, as they are very fragile. The storage bag is well-stitched, and roomy enough to make slipping the folded net in and out effortlessly. Opening the net portion took a few minutes to figure out since no instructions were sent with the product.I have not had to use it, but I am confident that it will work well. It seems quite sturdy, having weight and substance to all of its parts. It ought to last a lifetime the way I plan to use it.

This telescoping 10' plus net does what it advertises as it gives me greater range & reach into the water @ different lengths. It can feel a bit heavy when totally extending & reaching into the water @ max body & net length but I think that's to be expected (although I am "a bigger" guy). This net has an ample opening & a deep net depth for large catches but the net holes are still small enough to catch “little bait fish.” It's not as light as other nets for crabbing or catching small bait fish so your “swiping speed” might be slowed when using it for these purposes. I got another cheaper & lighter net for that. I've read reviews on how to properly use this net so as to not break the net/pole connecting joint & it makes sense. Although it's strong, too much pressure should not be applied to the net/pole connector so use it to support your catch as opposed to using it solely to make your heavier catches. I generally like the construction, durability & practicality of this net and I think I made a great purchase @ $50! My fishing friends have complimented this net as well. I do recommend it considering you know & understand what it is.

This review is for the 118" modelFirst impressions: folds up nicely and compactly, I was surprised at how small the box it came in was. Seems well made and sturdy. The Y joint that connects the net to the handle is plastic but seems sturdy. The mesh is small enough to net minnows which was a surprise bonus. As with pretty much any net, you should always turn the net and lift vertically, with the handle straight up. I do wish the net were a little deeper like the shorter model but it should be large enough for fish 3' in length. I have taken off 1 star because the advertised length is 118" but when I put a tape measure on it it measured 114" from end of handle to end of net. I am taking this net up north to land 10-20lb Salmon and will update whether it does or does not survive the trip.Update: Not sturdy enough for big Salmon. I ended up just using it to catch minnows and it served that purpose well.
