With the safety switch wired in series with the burner circuit, the switch will de-energize the system's burner or burner control once it senses the spillage of hot flue gases. Arrived faster than expected. This item can be manually reset but it is unclear how in the included instructions. But a quick search can clear that up. It’s good to have a spare available in case of a tripped switch. It is easy to install and keeps the hot water coming!

The switch works as advertised (has shut off the gas burner twice due to back drafts). However the switches lead you to believe they have been reset even after several attempts (to make sure they are reset). Reseting with finger pressure will not work and only leads to time consuming trouble shooting elsewhere. Resetting should only be done with pressure from a tool like a screwdriver.
