The design of the work sharp glass plate makes lapping the back of chisels easier than any water or oil stone. The angle plate holds the chisel at a precise angle so the glass can be reversed on the spindle to lap polish both sides of the chisel edge.

These extra slotted abrasive discs were great to have on hand for use, in addition to the abrasive discs included with the tool sharpener

Fits great and performs as needed on Work Sharp grinder unit. You have to remove the plastic cover to adhere the sanding disc to the wheel. It is difficult to find the plastic edge to start peeling off of the disc.

These are discs for the WS3000. The only “flaw” I see is that the grit is printed on the inside of the plastic that shields the sticky side i.e. you can’t really see it because it’s not on the back. If you’re unsure, put a flashlight under the disc, grit side down, and spin the disc until you find in. I write the grit on the back with a marker so that if the grits get jumbled I don’t have to stop and figure out which is which when changing paper

I think 3 of the grits come in orange. I put the 1000 and the honing on one wheel - the honing is black. I have the leather but I think the 6000 grit honing paper gives a more mirror shine. I put the 250 and 400 on one wheel and for me it is pretty challenging to tell which one is which.. So now I take a sharpy and mark them in the middle when i put on new paper.I see a lot of comments about the price. IDK there are so many different kinids of compounds for sandpapers. WS paper fits perfectly, stays in place, and brings all of my chisels to a perfect mirror finish. There are grits that i go through facter that others. It would be nice if they could be purchased in individual grit. Right now I have 4 or 5 250s but can't find a single 400......

After freehand sharpening chisels and plane irons on the grinding wheel for years and dreading doing it because things we're never consistent , I stumbled upon this machine... Wow.. I didn't find it fast enough!! It works like magic with consistent results every time.. These discs, although not cheap, are in my opinion, worth every cent and more.. Initially you go through a few rather quickly in the beginning when bringing your sharpenings up to baseline.. but after that they last much longer.. in the long run.. stones are expensive for good ones so it's a wash! This is so much easier and these discs are quality.. very happy with purchase.

The product arrived ahead of the date promised in good order and well packaged. If you have a Workshop machine, don't hesitate when your abrasives are getting worn, these are to the original specification, with a few additional grades. Also I recommend that you buy both types as I did as the additional grades contained extend the potential right up to being able to properly polis the flat/reverse side. of tour chisels and many plane irons to a mirror finish as required to obtain the sharpest possible edge when the final sharpening of the cutting bevel is completed.
