I purchased these for use as a thimble for light sewing but they were not the greatest. The needle would poke through the silicon at times. They may be better suited used only for finger protection while hot gluing

The verdict is still out on this. It protects the finger tips but you don't have a proper feeling and grip. It feels a bit awkward.

Just wish more size choices -none fit my thumb which I stab on a regular basis, other than that I love them.

Just received them. They fit very nicely and seem like good quality; they're not thin silicone but rather a heavier product. I have finger protectors, i.e. blue silicone, and the ones that come with your glue gun. They are okay but don't fit as nicely as these do. Out of the 9 only 3 were too small for me. I can give those away or just hang onto them for little fingers that come to visit. It took me looking up the mats to understand what they were for. They are to put on your table under the glue gun or whatever you need to protect from any glue. I have a mat for my glue gun that is heat resistant but it doesn't stick to the surface of the table so these will work well in addition to it. Hope this gives others an idea of how this works and the quality.

I just got a hand embroidery set and needed to protect my fingertips from needletip pokes. These protectors are perfect! They're not clunky or heavy and don't accidentally slip off like metal thimbles.They have a grippy texture on the exterior, which is awesome for hand sewing quilt binding when the needle is harder to pull through multiple layers of fabric and batting.I also love that they can be used with hot glue guns to protect skin from burns. I actually stopped using my glue gun to avoid blistering burns, but now I can use it again.Since it's BPA free, I would imagine that confectioners (candy makers) coul use these for taffy pulling and other decorative food arts involving heat. You just wouldn't want to use the same set for both food and hot glue or sewing, of course.Very cool product. I like that I can protect my fingertips without gloves.

TLDR: Awesome safety and protection in a small package! I never knew I needed these until now. I am so happy to have these, as over all the years I have often hot glued my fingers and once or twice got a pretty bad burn! And anyone who has done that knows how much it hurts and just plain suuuckksss. These are a finger saver for sure, and I’m sure you could use them for sewing etc as well and have great protection. These fit nicely, seem durable, and I think they will last. I also absolutely love the little glue mat that came with it bc I’m always searching for something to go under my glue gun, and this is sooo much better than cardboard or paper. Cool product, a little on the expensive side, but worth it if you often hot glue or sew! 🧵
