I purchased a mid sized Nomad Net and tossed in the release without thinking much about it. Now that it’s arrived, what do I do with it? Ah, but for the lack of a second rubber strap ($2). (Fishpond: Are you listening?) As is, I either attach to the hole in the handle or the net-end, as in their videos. The directions say just attach to one end and you’re set. Wrong. If I attach to the handle and D ring on my vest, the net hangs such that when I walk it bangs against the back of my legs. Mid-size Nomad is 37” long. The net is hanging low and also easily gets hung up in brush when hiking along a river. Also, I’m grabbing the net, not the handle with my free hand when I want to use it, so I’m one-handing, fumbling with the net while trying to land a fish. And no, don't attach the coil there, it gets in the way landing a fish.If I attach the magnets to the net-end and D ring of my vest, it doesn’t hang up because my upper body protects it as I go through brush. Then, when on the water, I reach around, grab the handle and land the fish, if I just had one more rubber strap. The coil is attached to the handle and my belt, and OUT OF THE WAY. So, I went back online and bought one. My last thought would be that an 11 lb. magnet for a 1 lb. net just might be overkill. It feels like I’m pulling my vest off. Ridiculous. The clip on the coil is too small, almost worthless. It should be a carabiner.Would I buy this again? Too much of a hassle for such a simple product. The quality is of the components is very good, but I wonder if these people actually spend time on the water. It may work for others. This is an old idea, poorly implemented, easily corrected. It’s a No.It’s a very nice net, BTW. That, I would highly recommend. My $2 advice.

The build quality seems to be very high. The magnets are very strong, so your net should stay in place until it is needed. The clip is also of good quality. I highly recommend this net release. I use this release with a mid length Fishpond net and a Fishpond sling pack

Great product. However, rings should be replaced with stronger ones immediately.
