We have a fancy gas & electric coals fireplace. NOW we can get heat into the room when it's on. We went to the FANCY SHAMCY fireplace store out east...they said there was no room to install a fan. Completely untrue. They wanted to sell us a NEW fireplace for $5k. The existing switch already had 3 fan speeds on it! WIN! WIN! Very cool purchase. Thanks Amazon! ❤️

In concept this blower works as expected. Turn the fan on, cold air goes through the bottom, hot air comes out of the top. The main issue, at least with the one I installed, is with the noise. When you turn it on cold, it sounds like you would expect and noise isn't terrible. However, after about 10 minutes once the fireplace starts to heat up, the unit begins to squeal, I assume as the metal expands and/or the bearings heat up. I can only operate the fireplace in short bursts. I know it is the heat because if I leave the fan running and shut off the burner, after about 10 minutes and allowed to cool a bit, the squealing subsides. Not sure how to fix this and really don't want to uninstall it.
