The strings are long and easily allows variation in lengths. Sometimes I could catch the string if I looked just right but I think that is expected. I loved that each took batteries so I didn’t have to try and find a litany of plugs to recharge them and I didn’t have the question in my mind if they were going to randomly catch fire. The light each candle produced was perfect to me, not too much but plenty.The wand looks a bit on the cheaper side and is probably the achilles heel of this. When using the wand it is a bit easy to accidentally turn on or off multiple candles at once. The sticky mounts are great, better than the tape I tried. I wanted to check tape against the adhesive included with the mounts and the tape I used was rated far higher, but every candle using tape fell and none using the included. Easy to unpack and hang from the ceiling using the included adhesive hooks after installing a AAA battery in each cable (not included). Flickering is quite realistic. The strings to hang them are pre-attached. Harry Potter fans will be delighted at the results, and the fact that the remote control for all the candles is a wand makes it even cooler.A couple of issues - first is SCALE. These are smaller than I was expecting, about 2/3rd scale of a normal candle. In mid-air, that isn't a big issue - just something to be aware of. The fishing line attached to each would be better if it were thinner black silk, as they currently pick up light from the candles and are pretty visible in a room when in use. Of the 24 candles, one was dead on arrival and wouldn't light up - the others all worked just fine. The batteries work for several hours each.Overall, these are fun and a great accessory for Potter fans for halloween and everyone for Christmas. They add great ambiance to your room and the wand remote is a nice touch. Highly recommended.

These candles work great, but there are a few drawbacks:1) Setup - it takes so long to set these up, from unwrapping the tape from each candle, adding a AAA battery to each one, attaching the string to the adhesive hanger, and then placing them where you want them. My fingers were getting raw so I had to take several days to work on these a little at a time. If you have others to help this issue may not be so bad2) Glitchy candle - there is one candle that seems to turn on by itself while the others are turned off. I will turn off everything and go to bed to find one candle is turned on when I wake up. It also will not turn on with the others. It wasn't like this at first but start up a week after I set up everything3) Batteries - You will need to invest in a large set of AAA batteries since each candle plus the wand require them.The upsides are that they look great, provide a wonderful mood, and are just fun to turn on and off. My guests really liked them when they came over. Overall, if the effort doesn't keep you from using these, I recommend them.

They are better than I expected and are ready to use. You just add the batteries and that's it. They even come with a string to hang them from the ceiling. And they automatically pair with the controller.
