This is an old fashion sifter. It works well and fast without much physical effort. The metal is a little thin, so don't be rough with it. I was using a squeeze handle style that gave my hands cramps and was slow in use. Sifting is not supposed to be the main event in cooking , and this makes it so much easier and faster.

I purchased two different sifters, both are 4-wire vs. 2-wire. I measure my ingredients, however, there are no cup markings on the sifter. After sifting there is still a fair amount of ingredient in the bottom and I have to shake the sifter to get the remaining out.Two improvements would make this fantastic.1. Imprint cup markings on it.2. Position the wire agitator so that it slightly scraps/touches the mesh screen. That will ensure all product will be sifted thoroughly.

I have a bigger old 4-wire sifter and just needed a second one. The crank sifters are much easier to use than the others and the 4-wire is faster than a 2-wire. Very nice sifter.

The item looks good. However, due to the number of wires going through the sides, the holes are too big making the ingredients to spill out.

I bought this to replace a 50 year old, 5 cup sifter. This seems to be a sleeker, shinier, style of sifter. It is nicely built and sifts flour into a soft, pillowy mound of fluff. However, my older sifter still had a couple of inches of room at the top when I sifted 5 cups of flour. This one is filled to the brim, and as such I need to divide the flour into 2 before sifting. Not a big deal, but thought it might be important for others. It sifts well and is easy to clean. It feels "sturdy" and nice in the hand. All in all, I solidly recommend.
