At first the exhaust tips were not in the box of parts, but I let them know right away and they were sent about a week later.

Cat back exhaust installed in 3 hrs on '96 Dodge Ram 4x4, working from the floor. Instructions were very thorough with the parts diagram in order they're placed. Used reciprocating saw to remove old pipes. Good system. Was bent well and installed well. All parts I needed were there including adapter and extension pipe from catalitic converter hangers and hardware. My only complaint is the 2 1/2" clamps that came with the hardware. Stripped threading on 3 of them, (on the bolt part), well before they were brought to torque range. Bought heavier duty at parts store. Other than that..it sounds GREAT. Nice rumble at idle and throaty on acceleration but not too loud to be annoying. Notice an improvement in power at criusing speeds also.

At first I didn't think this was going to sound aggressive enough, but after driving my truck a few times, now I am actually really pleased. This fits my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 almost perfectly, and I can still carry my spare tire! Instructions are great, follow them as closely as possible and you'll be golden. Included hardware is plentiful and you should not need anything extra. When you see the instruction step that says to cut the existing exhaust pipe at the entrance to the stock muffler, do so as closely as possible to the muffler as you can. It will be a very close fit, and if you cut it too far upstream, away from the muffler entrance, you'll have to stretch the assembly too much which is not recommended. There is a large 2.5" pipe included in the kit, in case you want to cut clear up closer to the cat. I didn't use this at all, and everything worked out great. Next is upgrading the stock cat to one that will accept the 2 inch dual incoming pipes, and exit as a single 3 inch. Then I will put 3 inch pipe all the way to the Flowmaster muffler. Necking this down to a single 2.5 inch pipe post cat, is like a 22% restriction from dual 2 inch pipes coming into the cat. Do some area calculations on diameter, and you can see how this differs between different diameter pipe.Update: 03/28/17Not happy enough with the sound of the super 50 muffler in this kit. So I bought a super 44 and swapped it out. Used the extra pipe that came in this kit and the extra clamp, fit like a glove and now it really rumbles. Much better.

The package was open on one end with pipes showing. When carrying in the house the box just fell apart

The product sounded excelent on the truck and gave it the sound to match the rest of the attitude of the pickup. The only downside was we had to improvise a 6 inch section of pipe to have the kit fit correctly in the hangers and without binding up the exhaust.

I'll start with the end result: Awesome sound and HUGE power difference. They say "moderate", but that is relative to the auto industry. In your neighborhood this will be one of the loudest systems. However, it's not so loud that it will wake everyone up or disrupt conversations. Unless you gun it and want to wake people up - then it will! I have noticed a significant difference in my need to accelerate while driving around town. I don't have to push down so much on the gas pedal. Also, it looks awesome! the tips they provide are beautiful, and just having one on both sides makes a big difference in the appearance of my truck. Now on to the installation. It's easy if you have some basic workshop experience and tools. If you can put together legos, you can install this system. All parts are shaped accurately and fit together well so you just slide one into the other, tighten the clamps, and go. But it's not quite that easy - nothing ever is.You will want to raise the vehicle a bit - I used ramps under the rear wheels, then put blocks on the front to be safe. It's hard to work with these parts from under the vehicle without lifting it up at least that much. The hardest part of installing this system is removing the old one. With the amount of heat and weathering the system gets, you are most likely going to have to use a lot of PB Blaster (several applications) and let it sit overnight if you have the time. A sawzall is helpful as well.Special note: This system is NOT "cat back". It is muffler back. If you have to cut the muffler off, you will want to cut as close to the body of the muffler as possible so you can re-use the pipe.First challenge: the instructions, while accurate, are not descriptive enough and like so many other instruction sets are only helpful after you have read them several times. The good news is they were written by someone that speaks english. The best part is the diagram.Second challenge: there are extra parts in the box. They did that to accommodate several model years, so don't do too much head scratching when something is left over.Special note #2: Take off all the rubber exhaust hangers when you remove the old muffler. You will be reusing only 2, which are those that are just in front of the rear axle. Some of them would hang near the new pipes and may melt.If you are installing a catalytic converter at the same time (like I did) then you will need to make a trip to the auto parts store for an extra length of pipe, since there is an extention from the cat to the muffler. No sweat though, just install everything and measure the gap.Total installation time for me was about 2 hours including removal of the old system. I used a sawzall for removal, so if you aren't doing that, I'd double it for all the pain of removing rusted out clamps. I had a friend help as well, and we took our time.
