Product Description

Fluke Corporation is the world leader in the manufacture, distribution and service of electronic test tools and software. Since its founding in 1948, fluke has helped define and grow a unique technology market, providing testing and troubleshooting capabilities that have grown to mission critical status in manufacturing and service industries. From industrial electronic installation, maintenance and service, to precision measurement and quality control, fluke tools help keep business and industry around the globe up and running. As electrical systems grow more and more complex, spikes, transients, surges, and sudden over voltage events become more common. These can trigger a sequence of events that may lead to serious injury. This is why the test equipment must be designed to protect people who work in this high-Voltage high-current environment. The next generation volt alert AC non-contact voltage testers from fluke are easy to use, and feature volt beats technology. Just touch the tip to a terminal strip, outlet, or supply cord. When the tip glows with a high intensity red led and the unit beeps, you know there's voltage present. It senses the steady state electrostatic field produced by Ac voltage through insulation without requiring contact to the bare conductor. Electricians, maintenance, service, safety personnel, and homeowners can quickly test for energized circuits in the workplace or at home. The fluke 1lac-a-ii low voltage detector is a category Iv 1000-Volt over voltage rated product for added user protection, the highest rated of its kind. The tester meets 1000 v, cat iv safety rating. The 1lac-a-ii has an expanded range of 20 to 90-Volts Ac and runs on two AAA alkaline batteries (included). The continuous self-test lets you know it's working. The fluke 1lac-a-ii has a round tip, is sold one item per package, and is covered by a two year warranty.

This voltage detector works much better than my Milwaukee one. That’s on me. I read the reviews before I bought the Milwaukee one but decided for my purposes it would be fine. Turns out I was wrong. I don’t even think there was a significant difference in price. I’ve been so happy with my Dewalt to Milwaukee tool changeover and all my Milwaukee tools have exceeded my expectations to the point that I figured it would HAVE to be decent. Plus I know that a good deal of bad reviews are from people who don’t know what they’re doing. However, in this case they were right. The Milwaukee one does not live up to expectations. I am not an electrician, but I do low voltage electrical work in industrial automation applications. Low voltage being 24vdc. I truly do not care whether 24vdc applications are hot or not. However, in the same cabinet there may also be 440+ vac, which I do very much care about. I assess each job individually and find and mitigate risks as necessary and the Milwaukee voltage detector has failed me both by embarrassing me AND by placing me in harm’s way. I had to break out my meter which negated the whole purpose for carrying a voltage detector. I immediately tested this Fluke voltage detector when I received it and am MUCH happier with it, just/ even on residential outlets you can clearly see the difference.

I chose this one because I got the impression this was not as sensitive as other ones; however, it seems to detect potential at such a distance that it's hard to tell where the potential is actually coming from.

This new model tester sucks. I'm an electrician and have always used fluke tick testers. My old one just stopped working after about 8 years ago i decided to replace it with what i thought was the same thing, but was i wrong. This be model doesn't beep and the worst part is that that fluke changed the tip from flat to round. Now it doesn't fit into the slot in the receptical anymore, junk. If you are looking for a tick tester get yourself the older modelif you can find it, this one sucks.

I'm restoring an older home and some of the wires aren't color code wired so I wasn't about to guess which was the 'hot' one. This tool is great it helped me install new light switches and electrical outlets plus one overhead light I couldn't get connected right. A must for any handyman who would dabble in electrical work.Small enough to fit in shirt pocket, long battery life, light to tell you which wire is hot and long battery life.

Recommended to me by an electrician. Great investment for an old house with finicky wiring. Very accurate, easy to use, option beep or light only. Lightweight, easy to store in tool bag, very handy.

Works really well but stupid me ordered the wrong model. This one is low voltage 20 to 90VAC. I'm still glad I have this test instrument though. Fluke is the best, no question.

I love this tester. As long as you can do without an audiable beep or vibration its great. It is durable and the test button ensures that the batteries are good. The 90-1000volt range helps prevent you from getting a false reading and aids in identifying which conductor is energized. It's voltage range also helps you differentiate between 120 and 277volt by the distance from the energized part (roughly 1" vs 3-4").

What a handy little tool......... find this to be my 'go to' tool to check for power problems down to thermostat control voltages. So simple and mindless to use, and it works perfectly, just be sure to read the instructions and obey the safety warnings, and understand what it is designed to do. My voltmeter is quite lonely these days........... relegated to those tougher troubleshooting chores only.
