Insects are hunted by fish in the wild as they offer a widely available food source. The instinctive feeding habit is the foundation behind Bug Bites, which are formulated with nutrient-rich insect larvae and enriched with multiple quality proteins, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Most freshwater fish are omnivores and regularly feed on insects in the wild. However, not all insects are created equally when it comes to a fish’s diet. Bug Bites are formulated with sustainably harvested Black Soldier Fly Larvae (#1 ingredient across all formulas), which are raised on fruits and vegetables for exceptional “super food” nutrition. Using a unique cultivation process, BSFL are grown under controlled conditions for total sustainability that preserves natural environments. Under controlled conditions, Black Soldier Flies produce larvae, which naturally feed on decaying organic matter. Unconsumed fruits and vegetables are used as larvae feed. The larvae consume the feed, converting the nutrients into protein and healthy fat. After a 2-week feeding cycle, the larvae are harvested and dried. The dried larvae are mixed with other high-quality proteins, vitamins, minerals and trace elements to offer a complete and balanced daily diet. In addition to BSFL, Bug Bites offer other excellent protein sources such as Herring & Shrimp Meal, which are also rich in Omega-3 for healthy skin, scales, fins and colors. Many new apistos in tank proven to be picky eaters, especially the electric blue rams. To the point, I bought some GarlicGuard and this product. No food enhancer needed for this one!. They took to it immediately.

My 60 gal. tank is mostly small angels and medium sized glow tetras. They absolutely love the pellets after I smash them into smaller pieces. Highly recommend.

I feed my cichlids Bug Bites, and they love it! The insect-based formula is high in protein and helps with color enhancement and digestion. The pellets sink slowly, giving all my fish a chance to eat. I use it as a staple food, and it keeps them healthy and active. Highly recommend for cichlid keepers!

My baby Oscar Cichlid won’t eat any dry food except these Bug Bites. He’s spoiled and prefers frozen brine shrimp. I was glad to find out he’ll eat these bug bites.

I used these brand for my multiple bettas so when I chose African cichlids for my new 60 gallon tank I knew I wanted to try this brand along with a few other brands. My guys go nuts for this food and you can tell it’s their favorite. Even my baby cichlids are loving this food too !!! I highly recommend this food for your cichlids and all your fish bug bites is the best fish food out there!!!

I've got 3 juvenile sunfish; a Longear, a Dollar, and an Orangespotted. I hadn't been able to get them to eat anything but live foods before trying this. I settled on culturing red wiggler worms to feed them but it's annoying and the fish might run into nutrient deficiency issues eventually living off just 1 food.I tried multiple prepared foods before and this is the only one that they haven't spit out, all 3 are eating it without having to pre-soak/starve or anything. I also like that the same formula comes in multiple sizes so I can switch to the larger pellets as they mature and still be confident that they'll eat it. 10/10
