I haven't installed the product in the vehicle yet.My complaint is not about the product itself, but about the shipping.I bought a kit that should contain the locking pin, discs, friction reducing liquid and instructions, as well as come in the original and undamaged packaging.I received the product in a bag, no instructions, no locking pin and no sign of the original packaging....Feeling like a fool

I put them in an Explorer 8.8 that in a 1966 Dodge Coronet with a 440 engine, I can roast both tires, so they work well.

Bought this kit for my 8.8" 28 spline rear end on my Ford Ranger. The kit comes with enough clutches and metal discs to do the job. There are also 3 pairs of shims (0.030", 0.035", and 0.040"), a new center pin retaining bolt, and a bottle of Motorcraft friction modifier. The installation is fairly straightforward with help from some Youtube videos. The new clutch assembly stacks up much thicker than the one that came off my spider gears. However, everything fit into place perfectly although the spring took a bit of finagling to get it seated. I now have amazing traction with the rear tires! No more one wheel burnouts from stop signs when the roads are wet! I highly recommend!

This Traction-Lock Rebuild Kit works great, I found online instruction helpful, the kit includes the lock bolt.

Kit worked great to rebuild the diff in my 00 explorer. Would be nice if it included smaller shims though, smallest in the kit is .030. I ended up putting it together without any shim, but .010 would have gotten it nice and tight and allowed for wear tolerance. Overall good buy.

Finally got around to installing this in my 8.8 rear end with 3.55 gears. Installation was totally straight forward. The carrier & ring gear did not have to be taken out of the axle housing, I was able to do it under the car with the frame on stands.I used the .035 shims (they include .030, .035, and .040.) Technically, you are supposed to measure the clutch packs to ensure that they are within spec. If you go too thick, you won't be able to get the cross pin back in. My clutch packs are nice and tight and I was able to get the pin back in with relative ease.I did not replace the "Z" spring, but I did find that my spider gears (the smaller pinion gears) had some chipped teeth, so I replaced all 4 gears at the same time, with genuine Ford parts as well.I did the job by myself without any help. You can get the spider gears back into position by yourself without any help.
