The fit and finish of this socket is nice. The one I received was flawless. It fits very well on the fork cap, getting enough bite even with the o-ring insert. The description mentioned that it snaps into place, but I did not experience that. It just went on and off smoothly like most sockets. Definitely recommend this product.

This worked perfectly to detach my bike's front forks. Before this when I tried the cap was a little tougher to remove. The rubber seal inside this socket helps lift up the cap and unseat it. It fit so well that it did not scratch the chrome or knurl in the edges of the fork cap.great product if you need one!

Perfect for removing the fork tube nuts. This item is well made of quality material.

Little more convenient for adjusting preload on my forks, little bit less apt to mar the anodizing on the preload nut. I'm basically happy with it, as I rarely need it for anything significant. Just use it for a low-torque application of adjusting the preload, and occasionally pulling the cap to change oil. For this it works great, and even has a little stand-off o-ring to keep from marring the top of the preload adjuster.Only negative is the electroplating on the tool is absurdly low quality. Looks terrible, probably won't last all that long before it flakes off. But, its an okay value and is usable with or without the coating.

I've had to compromise many times in the past using the tool I have to do a job that really needed a better tool so now that I'm older and generally able to get the tool needed if I choose, I prefer to get the right tool and not "make do" when necessary. I still make do sometimes but when it comes to my bike, I didn't want to make do with a crescent wrench to remove the fork caps when I'm ready to change the fork oil. It may have been fine to do so but following Murphys Law, something would have slipped or the cap would have been tighter than expected or the angle would have been wrong-whatever. I want my bike to keep looking as good as possible and wasn't going to take the chance so I got the "right tool for the job". Fits perfect, really like the rubber ring inside to keep tool from even rubbing on the cap and honestly, it's just a nice looking piece of chrome! lol Can't go wrong with form AND function. It may be a seldom used tool, but sometimes you have those and are just glad they are there if/when you need them.
