It needs oxyacetylene for them to melt, the melting point is a lot higher than advertised

Forney is making a name for itself lately. So far, everything I have bought from them is top notch. This is a handy rod to have around for farm repairs. It's low heat, so it's a good filler rod.

When these arrived, they were very poorly packed and the two holding tubes were shattered. The rods survived, with some minor flaking of the flux. The supplier offered to replace them, but I wanted the rods more than the packing tubes, so I declined. The rods work very well, and I would have given them 5* except for the poor packing. Don't be put off by this - it could have been a one-off.
