I end up modifying this magnetic pick up tool with a much stronger magnet. It can now lift and release pretty much anything. I used a D80 fishing magnet from china (80mm wide) with a claimed pickup weight of 600lbs. I reinforce the top of the shell with a large fender washer and some epoxy because I seen another review where a user cracked the plastic shell. Cost me $12 in supplies (magnet and epoxy).

The tool works good. Power is ok. I did not rate it higher. As I did silicone around the magnet as to keep moisture out, as I feel the manufacturer should have done that for the price. Not that big of deal.

This magnet will pick up the tumbling media pins wet or dry and release the pins when the release handle is pulled. Works Great! Well worth the purchase price.

I honestly got this on a whim, but I'm really glad I did. Not the strongest magnet in the world but it's super easy to use and for separating tiny SS pins from your load it's surprisingly effective.

Used this the other day,as I was tumbling some 310 cadet brass and when I dumped the brass and the SS media,used the Frankford Arsenal Stainless Steel Media Magnet,hey presto the brass was left behind and the SS media was on the magnet to return to the tumbler drum,great time saver,don't have to do the sifting of the media manually.
