This brand has been my go-to corkscrew for all kinds of corked wine bottles. I had an older model that lasted me 10 years, but it broke in half when I attempted to pull a badly stuck cork. That one was made of aluminum. The newer models are made of high impact plastic, but still, be careful if a cork is stuck and try to finesse it rather than brute force. I would have given it 5 starts if the body was built from stronger material.

This is the real original made in Italy Boomerang, not the knock-off that's said to be made in China. The difference is hard to see in product pictures on Amazon, but that slight scallop on the underside of the handle (the side your fingers hold when pulling a cork) is what the Italian ones have -- see image -- while the knock-offs have a straight underside. Italian design is first rate, but their manufacturing sometimes leaves something to be desired -- anyone own a Fiat? -- but this "worm" is well made. I got it after slicing my thumb opening a nice bottle of wine with a traditional worm with a small knife blade for cutting the foil. So a jumped at this one, now having ordered a second one for travel.

Have tried a million corkscrews over the years, including lots of fancy expensive devices, and this model is simply the best design.The killer feature is the built in foil cutter which gets the foil off in less than 2 seconds. The other key feature is the two-stage lever which lets you decork without any strain.

I had one of these corkscrews in the UK for at least 15 years, but went on a holiday this year and lost it! Just had to replace it and Amazon US supplied it - perfect cutting and screwing device for opening wine.

Wonderful product, before using this product I had a difficult time opening a wine bottle, also the foil cutter is an extra added bonus. Great product, highly recommended for wine consumers.
