Using a flat and square piece of cherry as the test piece on a router table, this bit cuts square and clean.Unfortunately this 5mm bit makes a 5.25mm wide cut which is unacceptable.Amazon authorized a return.It is more expensive, but I will try a Whiteside down cut spiral bit and see if it has better cutting tolerances.

Perfect! Big box stores only sell 1/8" and 1/4" bits. This 5mm routes a perfect solution to kitchen cabinet drawer bottoms as they are 5mm and I can tap the bottoms into the drawer for a perfectly square drawer. The bit cuts like a hot knife through butter. Couldn't be happier with my purchase and the process from order to delivery.

Freud, as always, are doing a great job with their bits. I use it to route dados for bottoms of drawers (which are sold at Lowe's as "1/4" inch and are in fact 0.196 inch which is actually 5mm. Duh). Used this bit and the plywood fitted perfectly.

Purchased for use in a shelf pin jig, but found that it is slightly larger than 5mm leaving my shelf pins a bit loose. They still work fine once a shelf is placed on them, but will be looking for another bit that will hold my pins more snugly.

Exactly what I needed to route out grooves for 5mm subfloor plywood I was using to make an inexpensive panel partition. Cut clean and plunged well. Used in an older Craftsman router from the 1990s. Estimate I cut approximately 80 board feet with this bit and it did not dull at all that I noticed.

I bought a piece of 1/4" birch plywood from the big orange hardware store for the center panel of a door on an entertainment center I am building. When I went to route out a slot in the styles and rails of the door for this center panel, I was surprised to find out that my undersized router bit (7/32") was far too large. What I discovered was that the Home Depot 1/4" plywood is actually labeled as 5.2mm and this 5.2mm ply is actually right on 5mm thick. This metric router bit created the perfect size slot for my center panel and saved me from having to buy a different thickness plywood at a more expensive wood store. Can't beat the price from Amazon either.
