Love the rgb lights. love how you dont need some fancy software to configure, its all doable on th controller itself. Works fine on my pc out of box. the charger cradle is a bit fiddly to get the connection, wish it was designed a bit better. I'm also very not much of a fan of gamesir keeping the select/start buttons really high up. kind of a pain to reach. dpad is decent. But yea overall solid controller with back paddles at this price. competitive with 8bitdo's ultimate line.

If this product was $100 plus i wouldn’t be surprised but for under $50 this controller is beyond amazing. Sticks and buttons feel good. The grips are nice and the charging stand and rgb is just a plus.

The GameSir Super Nova Wireless Gaming Controller has a lot going for it — but I have to be honest, figuring out how to connect it was incredibly frustrating.First, the good stuff:The build quality of this controller is top-notch. The Hall Effect sticks and triggers feel incredibly smooth and responsive, eliminating any stick drift issues. The rubberized grips are super comfortable, especially during long gaming sessions. I also love the RGB lighting — it gives the controller such a sleek, high-end look. The fact that it works across PC, Switch, iOS, and Android is a huge plus. The swappable ABXY buttons and detachable faceplate are also a nice touch, allowing for some customization. The 1000mAh battery lasts a really long time, and the charging dock makes it easy to keep the controller ready to go.Now, the not-so-good part:Connecting this controller to any device (especially via Bluetooth) was an absolute headache. The instructions were not very clear, and I had to look up several YouTube videos just to get it paired with my PC and Switch. Switching between devices was equally confusing. It doesn’t automatically connect like other controllers — you have to manually switch modes, and figuring out the button combination for each mode was very frustrating.Once I finally got it connected, though, it worked flawlessly. The connection was stable, no input lag, and the gameplay experience was fantastic. But I can’t ignore how unnecessarily complicated the pairing process was — it really killed the excitement when I first unboxed it.

Amazing quality. Everything works amazingly well. Worth every cent, can't get a better controller for the price and honestly it blows some more expensive controllers out of the water. 10 stars.

First off, despite whatever the title and description might currently say for this item, for the record, this is a review of the newly released GameSir Super Nova, not the Nova Pro.This is one heck of a controller. I was very pleased when I opened the box and lifted it up for the first time. It's not quite as hefty as an Xbox Elite Series 2, but it's close. It has that substantial feeling that I like in a controller. It doesn't feel cheap or hollow. The grips have a textured rubberized coating much like Microsoft's much more expensive Elite, but unlike Microsoft, GameSir realizes that stick drift is something gamers are sick of and unwilling to pay for anymore. Thus this controller has magnetic sticks that don't suffer the wear and tear of old fashioned potentiometers. And BOY, are these sticks ultra sensitive and reactive! I had to widen the dead zone, and cut down sensitivity in some of my games because these sticks really respond to the most minute of movements. This is a good thing in FPS games, for example, but it can be annoying in racing games when you find yourself spinning out instead of subtly turning a corner. Thankfully, you can enable dead zones on the fly with these sticks, and of course most good games have a sensitivity setting as well. The triggers are also hall effect sensors and are quite sensitive. If you want to accelerate, just a little bit, these analog triggers will let you do that once you get used to the sensitivity levels or adjust them to your liking. There are also little switches that let you shorten the trigger distance for faster reaction in shooters, much like on the Xbox Elite. The buttons are swappable and the faceplate is removable. You can buy other faceplates from Gamesir for a reasonable 10 bucks. If you are using this with a Nintendo switch, you can physically swap the A and B / X and Y buttons around to the Nintendo style with ease. The faceplate is magnetic and secures quite nicely, but it's easy enough to get off without a lot of prying and messing about. This controller also has two back buttons. Unlike the paddles on the Xbox Elite, these buttons are recessed and you're much less likely to accidentally hit them if you have big hands like I do. They can be assigned to any buttons you desire right from the controller. You don't even need to load up any software to do the configuration. You can hot swap them in the middle of a game if you feel like it. I don't usually use back buttons on controllers, but with this controller the buttons are just so well designed that I find them a fantastic alternative to using shoulder buttons because I'm one of those "index finger on the trigger" types of gamers. And of course all of the standard things are found on this controller. It has an Xbox layout, the buttons are right where you'd expect them, the d-pad is really nice-feeling and very responsive. It works with its own 2.5 GHz dongle, Bluetooth, or wired. And it has some pretty cool LED lighting that you can change around with the GameSir app once they get around to adding this controller to it (mine came to me before official launch, so I unfortunately was unable to test the software.)The Super Nova also comes with a charging dock, and it's a really nice one. Small footprint, magnetic connection, USB C and USB A ports (one to connect to your device and get power, the other to connect the dongle). The LED lights on the controller indicate charging status, and it charges pretty quickly. As I indicated earlier, one of the nicest things about GameSir's Nova series of controllers is that handy M button that lets you do all sorts of things on the fly from the controller itself without having to mess with software. Want to set any button to turbo? You can do that. Want to swap the A&B buttons? You can do that. Want to mess with the LED? You can do that. Want to assign the back buttons to any other button on the device? You can do that. Want to enable dead zones on the sticks? You can do that. You can even set up macros. It's a great feature and really beats the heck out of having to go into software to do all those things. The buttons are a soft touch and very quiet, but they still give a good feedback to your thumb when pressed. They're not mushy, but they're far from clicky. The same goes for the d-pad. If I had to qualify it, I'd say it's somewhere between the DualShock 4 and the Xbox Elite Series 2 in terms of the way of the buttons and d-pad feel. The only complaint I have thus far is that Microsoft won't let controllers like this work with the Xbox Series X. If they did, this would hands down be the perfect replacement for the frequently stick drifting Elite Series. Let's hope some of the dongles out there can make it so this controller can work wirelessly with the Xbox.It does work natively with PC, Switch, and Android. I'm using mine for my Steam Deck. Strangely, the Steam Deck recognizes the supernova as a Dual Shock 4, complete with supporting the gyro feature. I paired one via RF dongle, and the other with Bluetooth, and I'm seeing no major discernable difference. The lag on Bluetooth with this controller is so little that it's pretty darn close to RF, despite me knowing the RF is polling at much higher rates. Maybe it's just that my reflexes aren't what they used to be, but I'm not hating Bluetooth with this controller. Finally, if you're a tinkerer, you'll be happy to know that the analog sticks for this controller are the same as the ones used on the Xbox One and Core controllers. This makes it super easy and very inexpensive to customize sticks to match your faceplate. I threw a couple chromed aluminum sticks onto mine, and it's looking pretty premium now!So what's the verdict? This is one awesome controller, and I'm not just saying that. I've been on the hunt for decent controllers that match the Xbox Elite Series 2 in terms of feel and features, but beat it in terms of avoiding stick drift and being more versatile. This is that controller. I don't miss the second paddle on the back, and I love that the Super Nova will not start drifting in a year like the last two Elites I bought. GameSir really delivered on this one. Five stars!
