This is the perfect size for me because I’m only using it to melt silver and I don’t need anything larger for me.

I really love this little thing. I have a small anthracite coal forge that is nestle these things into to melt copper. I get the coals burning at full blast and these crucibles hold up very well to the extreme heat anthracite produces. I have bought 3 #1 3 #2 and 3 #3 and all of them work wonderfully.

Well, first of all these crucibles will not hold 9.5kg of copper as stated in the listing. As you can see in the picture, filled to the brim, they hold 1,033 grams of water. That equals 1,033cc and copper weighs 8.93 grams per cc. So that translates to about 9.2kg. I know it isn't a big difference, but the engineers working for the manufacturer have to know this. Why misrepresent the capacity? The other problem is that 2 of the 3 I bought were slightly damaged as you can see in the other two pictures. There were no chips of graphite in the bags they were packaged in, so I have to wonder if they are factory seconds. Even with these two issues, if purchased at the overstock price, I still think they are a good value.
