Extreme Strength: A crucible is a ceramic container in which metals or other substances may be melted or subjected to very high temperatures. This is a reverse action tool. Precautions: (1) Clean crucibletongs must be used when using. (2) When using crucibletongs to pick up a hot crucible, the tip of the tongs must be preheated to prevent the crucible from rupturing due to local cooling. After use, the tip of the tongs should be placed on the tabletop or asbestos net. (3) Never fill the crucibles with cold metal, such as aluminum – as there are strong chances that the metal will expand and crack the container. Also make sure to never allow the metal to solidify in the bottom of the crucible, for the same cause. (4) It is better to use different crucibles for different types of metals to avoid contamination. (5) Protective Clothing, heat gloves, and eye protection must be worn when meltingmetals. I used this product to melt black powder gold into a solid ball and it worked great. I used high heat and it did not crack. Great product! Thank you.

The crucibles are a good size and easy to coat with borax. The crucible holders are ok but a bit difficult to keep the flame on contents when pouring.

The ceramic bowl didn't last past 1 pour. The bowl cracked when I set it down, after I poured the silver. I set it down in a normal fashion and it shouldn't have cracked. Now I have to order another full set. Very disappointed.

Quality is what you would expect for the price. Did a couple pours with each crucible and they did the job fine. bigger crucible is held very firmly in the tongs and easy to pour. The small one doesn't get grabbed well so it's a bit wobbly in the tongs, but I was able to pour fine nonetheless. Would have preferred if it came with 2 larger ones instead of the small.

Cups are nice. Good pour spout and ready to use out of the box. Tongs are cheap and a little flimsy.
