It is a fantastic design; sensors sit close enough to trigger alarm. There are a number of similar brackets on the market. One particular feature of this design that I like is that on the part of the bracket that swings down, there are only three walls to the sensor 'cup.' This allows it to hold the sensor, but also slide the sensor out of its bracket like you would expect to change the battery. The competitive brackets that have four walls cupping the sensor look like they have much shorter walls allowing the sensor to slide over the top of the wall. Not sure if there is a mechanical benefit to having the taller walls with it swinging down each time the door opens but it seems to me like that feature may be helpful.The instructions are straight forward. The brackets include 3M mounting tape as well as screws. I have only used the tape on my metal door to try it out, not sure if I screws are required. The screws would surely be more permanent with the sensor swinging down every time the door is opening. I wish I had seen this before trying numerous other solutions that did not work.By attaching this to the top of the door it will let you know it been opened. When the door tilts the sensor will swing away from the magnet and open the sensor.The unit moves freely and wellThis novel solution let me put a reliable sensor on my garage door. The only caveat would be that if someone knew where the sensor, then they could possibly affix a strong magnet to the door and defeat the sensor. UnlikelyIf you wanting a way to monitor your garage door, or other tilting door, then this will probably work.

This is an ingenious device for mounting a SimpliSafe sensor on a garage door. Wonder why SimpliSafe didn’t come up with the idea. It is a simple swinging bracket that opens the sensor when the garage door is opened. The sensor is attached to the bracket with adhesive strips and the bracket is also attached with adhesive strips to the garage door. Be sure to thoroughly clean and dry the spot on the garage door where the bracket will be mounted. I attached it to the top panel of my garage door so it triggers quickly. I also added a device to my garage door to open and close it remotely and I also have a SimpliSafe outdoor camera mounted above the garage door. This gives me the ability to see what’s going on via my IPhone when I get a SimpliSafe notification that the door has opened or closed. It also gives confirmation that the door is opened or closed without seeing the door.

Very clever product!It's not easy to attach standard Simpli-Safe door sensors to a garage door. But no more! This clever little plastic bracket attaches easily to your garage door and holds a simpli-safe door open sensor.It's clever how it works (see the info on the product description). It's made of strong white plastic. It can be mounted on your garage door with screws OR double sided tape. You affix the actual sensor into the bracket with the double side tape supplied with the sensor.HINT:If you have a multi-panel door (most do), you can adjust how far open the door needs to be to trigger the sensor. The sensor will trigger when the bracket changes from vertical to horizontal. Knowing that...if you want the sensor to trigger with the door only open a small amount....put the bracket up high on the door. If you want it to not trigger until your door is almost completely open, then mount it on a bottom panel, and if in between, then put it on a middle section.Last...be sure you mount it properly with the correct orientation, otherwise it won't work properly.A great "simple solution" for your "Simpli-safe" garage door sensor.

I used to mount my simplisafe monitors for my garage doors directly to the door & surrounding jam, but the distance between the 2 didn't work all the time. I also had issues with them falling off and triggering the system inadvertently. This is so simple & easy. Be sure to mount them at the top if the door so even the slightest movement triggers them.

I just put this on my garage door and it works like a charm ! The door goes up and the unit flips open and causes the alarm to go off. Note: clean the garage door and wipe the area down with alcohol. Allow it to dry, peel the paper off the 3M foam tape and hold it tight to the door for a minute or so. I recommend it be installed near the top of the door so it activates sooner and the door doesn't need to be fully open for it to activate. Great idea, great price.
