I ordered this set thinking it was a fairly beginner set for my adult child who recently moved out. Much to my surprise the quality of most of the items were even better than I thought they would be. The scissors are sharp and are of pretty good quality. The herb stripper works well on softer leaves, such as basil, but it isn't the sharpest, so although I haven't had any issues with it so far on things like rosemary, just keep in mind that it isn't very sharp. The tenderizer (the main reason why I ordered the set) is lighter weight than mine, which is the same style, but I used it this morning on a pork roast and it didn't have any trouble piercing the tissue. The garlic peeler is pretty much exactly the same as the one I have and it's nice and grippy, so although I haven't used it yet, I'm certain it will be fine as well. The garlic crusher is a tad different, though. It's lighter weight and this is the one item that I would say isn't quite as nice as the others. The holes are quite small. This truly is a crusher and not a mincer. The pegs that line up with the holes are not the full length of the hole, so it doesn't really push everything out. You will be constantly cleaning it out. The spreader is nice, but uses cheap metal. My handle was very rough and I needed to sand it down just so that I didn't get splinters. However, I did that and then oiled the handle and it's absolutely lovely. The addition of some little cleaning tools is helpful. So overall, I would say this isn't a bad little set for just about anyone.

There are a lot of kitchen tools in this set. Let’s start with the garlic press. I like the press itself, it has a nice weight and it looks and feels like good quality in the hand. If fits well and operates easily. The press part matches up well with the holes, and it functions nicely. I like that there are brushes to work out the pressed or minced garlic pieces once pushed through and/or to clean it. I like the silicone glove to work off the garlic clove skin, peeling the garlic close is usually an annoying part of working with fresh garlic cloves, so that is nice. Next is the herb slicing sheers, which are very handy for all herbs, not just onions. In the past I’ve spent a lot of time chopping fresh herbs with a knife, then I graduated to kitchen sheers for the job, and this multi blade pair is next level, and a nice way to cut through fresh herbs in a fraction of the time. Like other reviewers, the plastic green piece with the holes is a confusing addition to this part, and there are no instructions or pictures to describe what this is for, so I’ll just hang onto it until this mystery is revealed. I’ll actually send an email to the mfg to ask, now that I think of it. Last is the tenderizer which feels solid, and rebounds well. It is a bit smaller than other tenderizers but I like that as I cook only for myself or smaller groups, so don’t need a really large tenderizer, which bigger ones can be overkill. Overall I like this set, I just wish it came with some instructions, and information.

I always look for garlic presses that have the “teeth” to push the garlic through the holes and I’ve had some before that don’t get even close to this one in terms of durability and sturdiness. I am so glad I found this press after my last one broke because this is actually stainless steel so it’s dishwasher safe (does need to be scrubbed before the garlic dries up), the handles are nice and wide so it’s so easy and comfortable to press as many cloves as I want in there and the garlic just pops right through the other side! Another nice thing about it being stainless is that I can run a knife on the inside to easily remove every little bit of garlic out (garlic lover here if you couldn’t already tell) without worrying about metal flakes coming off.One thing I do wish though is that the “teeth” were a little longer to get every bit of garlic out through the holes.

Works very well. Easy to clean. Stainless and reasonably priced. My prior one was very expensive and made of aluminum and other toxic metals.
