Great product except, not rugged , only lasted 2 and 1/2 years before USB failed. Previous Garmin lasted 7 years before it failed. I can no longerrecommend

This gps/dash cam worked great for about 6 months....then it started freezing, driving along and the screen will freeze so I have to hold the power button for 10 seconds to reboot...it will randomly freeze multiple times just going to town and back (40 minutes round trip) I did a hard reset to factory settings...didn't help at all....don't buy this one

This is the best I have found, this is my third one and comparing the programs in other devices this is the best so far. It is easy to use without what you really don't want. Sometimes it doesn't recognize an address and I don't know why, My I phone doesn't have trouble with the same address. I keep trying things and can then get it to work. I like the dash cam feature that is better than the stand alone cameras I have had. Anyway I still recommend it.

Product arrived on time and well packaged. I have a number of Garmin GPS units so I can make an apple to apple comparison.Boot up time runs about average. Seems to latch onto the satellites fairly quickly. Keeps up well as you drive about. The dash camera feature works well. My job means that I am frequently road testing vehicles that have been into our shop for servicing. Having been involved in a number of near misses due to people running stop signs and traffic signals...The camera function provides some peace of mind in that I can show a customer or the police what happened. I bought and use a friction mount since the device is being move about constantly.Lane Departure - Once calibrated for the location where it is being placed this feature does work fairly well. I have it disabled because again...The device is moving from vehicle to vehicle and I am not going to set it up for each vehicle. You can expect some false alarms and it is not going to be as accurate as those integrated into the vehicle, but it does work.Collision Alert - OK, it is unlikely it will alert quickly enough for most drivers to avoid a collision if you were not paying attention. My reflexes are fast, I have taken emergency vehicle driving courses, etc.. and even I could not brake fast enough to avoid a collision if I drift off and are suddenly alerted by this device. BUT....What is does well is to help alert you if you are following too closely for the speed being driven. This feature also requires a quick calibration for each vehicle but I usually skip that and it still works fairly well.Voice Recognition - There are SO many variables in play....Road noise, open windows, radio usage...It can work. Other times it will not work a well.Safety Alerts - Alerts for items like railroad crossings, animal crossings, school zones, very curvy roads..These have always worked well across Garmin products and this unit is no different.Overall, this is a nice addition to my stable of products. I do wish it came in the larger screen size....UPDATE 05/25/2021 - After a few weeks of usage I am still well satisfied. The GPS works as advertised. I do wish it was offered in the larger screen size as well for easier visibility. There is nothing wrong with it as is but as you age a larger screen is a nice added perk.

Haven't used the voice recognition or other new features. This is my 3rd Garmin unit, and I am still in the learning mode. Bought this one for integrated dash cam with accurate date and timing. Have given my kids my old units which still work great!

This GPS is better than the map program on your phone. First off, if someone calls you it does not blank out like your phone does. Secondly, you can set it not to spy on you by sending back position data. Thirdly, when you come to a freeway exit, it gives you a picture of what to look for. Big pluses on this model are free updates for the life of the phone, and the power cord is actually a radio receiver that routes you around traffic jams.

Continuous dash cam recording with updated GPS...great screen resolution.. do not use voice recognition. I have bought many Garmin's over the years and this one is the best. No one should drive without a dash cam...can also record encounters with the police with sound.,,just be sure camera does not shut down when you turn off your car at a traffic stop.
