Good product but much trickier to install than you would think based on an prior review on Amazon. You will need to be a better than average boat mechanic to install this. Before buying look at the installation manual (download from Garmin website). You will have to construct a bracket on which you mount the sensor. The sensor has to be positioned precisely in relation to the boats tiller arm, such that the center of rotation of the tiller arm AND the Rudder feedback sensor are the same, and all at the precise height to ensure that the drag link that joins the rudder sensor to the tiller arm is perfectly horizontal to ensure alignment. These various distances were not easy to measure accurately in the cramped space by the steering quadrant on my sailboat. Garmin do not mark the center of rotation on the base of the Rudder Feedback sensor so you will need to do this first. None of this made easier by the fact that the Rudder feedback arm is heavily spring loaded to one side (i.e., not to center). This means that it very difficult to dry fit the sensor in place as there is so much torque in the spring that it is impossible to hold the sensor in position with one hand and its round base is not wide enough to clamp temporarily to any support bracket. The 6' connection cable is permanently sealed into the sensor and exits 180 degrees from the position the sender will be installed for rudder dead ahead and the cable always seemed to be in the way when trying to attach any type of clamp BUT I did get it installed and it works nicely!!!

Used on a auto helm auto pilot! Took little engineering to get it to work, because of it's resistance range difference.
