... really has a nice weight to it, indicating that the internals are probably pretty heavy duty, which indicates that it should offer a long life span. It cools and does so well, and although I have no way of knowing how long this unit will hold up over the long run, the overall build quality seems solid, and I would really have no particular worries regarding durability. After all, the unit is not cheap, so it should last a good long time. I have not tried, nor do I own any of the electronic butlers, nannies, or apps that this is supposed to work with, so I cannot comment on that particular aspect. All I can say is that it cools and operates as it should, and so far has done so exceptionally well, with average noise for this size and type of unit.For what it is, what it does, and what it costs: Five StarsI am the Totally Unbiased Reviewer Dude (T.U.R.D.) and that is how I see it.

I've got this in my open living room that is connected to our kitchen, bathroom and bedroom hallways. It does a great job at cooling all 3 of the connected areas in our home. I really like being able to use my phone and Amazon Alexa devices around the house to control the AC. The noise level is acceptable. It's not whisper quiet but it's not distractingly loud either. The filter can be removed very easily for cleaning when it's time. The AC was easy to install, but I would suggest a helper because it's on the heavier side. Overall, this is a great window AC by GE and I highly recommend it!

Is working very well. This is wonderful! cools our living room and kitchen area! I use the remote to change settings on the air conditioner! I only turned it on once to try it out because the weather in New York is still too cold. It comes with an easy installation kit that allows you to start cooling immediately and provide maximum comfort for large rooms. You can also download the app and operate it on your phone to monitor, schedule and control your smart air conditioning unit from anywhere. In the summer, you can turn on the air conditioner to cool the room 1 hour earlier before you get home. This is a great choice!

This ac is nice. It is useable with a remote, was somewhat simple to install with 3 people. This ac is very heavy and quite bulky. It is a powerhouse for cooling down my entire downstairs though, Aprox 900sqft. It is not very loud compared to other ac units, but it is also not silent.

I own a GE dehumidifier that has been going strong in my basement for over 5 years now. To say it's been a reliable piece of gear would be an understatement. Since I was moving away from the "portable" air conditioners (which tend to leak all over the floor after a while - sigh) back to the window-style, this beauty from GE was a natural move for me.I love the remote control, and the overall design seems very compact for a unit with 14k BTU's of output. It's actually very important to not under-buy your air conditioner - a 5,000 BTU AC might seem cheap, but if you're asking it to cool down more than it's rated for, you end up spending more money because you're running it at max output all the time. This 14,000 BTU monster will cool a very large room (or a few smaller ones) very effectively, and much more efficiently than a smaller, over-worked unit.It even has Wi-Fi and some "smart" features which I, personally, will probably never use, but if that's your thing, then you'll be glad to know those types of things are present here. Myself, I'm happy with the remote control, and it's all I'll use.It comes with everything you'll need for basic installation, but you may want to look into a support bracket for the outside of the house, depending on how your windows are made.I highly recommend this based not only on the amazing build quality of this AC itself, but on my overall experience with GE products using similar technology (like my dehumidifier), which has been very positive. I find them to be far more reliable overall than a large percentage of the competition. 5 stars.
