It’s a small and lightweight jack but strong enough to lift 6 tons. It has a wide and textured base for stable grip on all surfaces. It has a lifting range of 8.25 in. to 15.9 in. so you might want to carry some 2x6’s so that it can lift taller items. It doesn’t have the lift range by itself to raise the tire off the ground on my truck even with the saddle extended to its furthest point, but setting it on top of some 2x6’s gives it that extra lifting capability. As a plus, by setting the jack on the 2x6’s, it makes it a lot easier to access to the relief valve. It would have been more convenient if the relief valve was angled up at a 45° angle but this isn’t a deal breaker. The bottle jack does come with two-piece handle with locking pin (a nice feature). What Gear Wrench is calling handle storage could be improved on so that the handles stay in place when the jack is tossed into a truck box. As it is presently designed, it won’t keep the handle in the mounting slots. I plan on using a Velcro tie strap to keep them attached to the jack during storage so they are not lost. All in all, it’s a nice jack.

I ordered this bottle jack for the hubby. He will be carrying it with us when we are towing our travel trailer. He already had a couple of 12-ton jacks, but wanted this one due to it being lighter in weight. He tried it out and said it works perfectly and that it is all we need to lift our travel trailer enough to change out a tire or something of that nature. He likes that it has grooves on the bottom to help keep it from sliding or kicking out. He also appreciates the holes in the base for convenient storage of the handle. The only thing he found to nit-pick about is the little valve that you turn to raise or lower the jack. The valves on his other jacks stick upward at an angle while the valve on this jack sticks straight out. I don't suppose it would matter that much if you have the jack elevated off the ground on a piece of wood or something, but if it is sitting on the ground it could sink down into the dirt enough that it might be a little difficult to get to the valve. Regardless, he is very happy with the quality and performance.

Gear wrench makes some of the best tools and they make a pretty awesome bottle jack too. Also the color scheme is really nice! This has no problem jacking up my vehicles.

GEARWRENCH 6 Ton Hydraulic Bottle Jack is heavy and sturdy. This is all metal and good quality. Needed this for my tool shed as I build inventory. Directions are clear for those of us that are novice. Directions do indicate to chock wheels not being lifted and not to use as sole means of support for car/auto if working under vehicle. Sounds like solid advice. While this looks strong enough to support any of my passenger cars, I'd still use back up ramps.

I live in a pretty old home and as time goes on we find ourselves having to do renovations of some kind or another. A lot of improvements or updates are done ourselves and having a jack that can handle rough and tough tasks for us is helpful, and sometimes downright essential. This works great and is easy to put into place and operate. We are very happy to have this in our toolkit and I would absolutely buy it all over again.

I've got a 2000 Chevy 3500 so it weighs quite a bit, and I can lift it no problem with this for changing tires. It is a bottle jack, so it's not tall enough alone. I cut a 4x4 block that I use with it and it works well. The jack is sturdy and has worked well. I haven't had any issues form it and its small enough to fit behind my truck seat no problem. Overall, I'm very happy with the jack.

It's a little overkill considering I'm just going to be using it for oil changes on my truck and cars, but it's did a great job on each of them. It can take a bit to lift depending on how close to the ground the bottom of the vehicle is since you can only move the handle so much, but still relatively easy and fast to get pretty much anything of mine lifted.
