Nice unit it does everything it says and the sound is great for the price. Definitely a bit more than handheld size but not quite an upgraded vintage replica either. It's nice for the price but the removable and rechargeable battery could have stood to have a longer playback runtime. However I am quite satisfied with this unit.

I have a shepherd who hates fireworks, thunder and loud rain; he likes to hide in my walk-in closet during those times. I had a small battery operated transistor that I would turn on for him but the dials stopped working; and replacing batteries was getting to be too much.He his little radio is so cute! The tuner and volume dials turn smoothly and it gets so many more stations than the old transistor did when it was new.I love, love that it’s rechargeable! I’ve had it playing for a total time of 8 hours or more and it was still playing strong before I recharged. The size is great; the sound is excellent and takes me back to the times before cellphone music or high tech speakers; it’s so easy to use and charge. Overall, it’s a great price for what it is. And my dog loves his panic room companion! NPR is his favorite station.😉

I was buying a radio for my uncle who just moved to a nursing home and can't get the TV channels that his favorite sports are on. I didn't look at the measurements when I was looking at this, I saw good reviews and it looked nice. I was surprised at the size when I received it, but I turned it on and the sound was great. It ended up being the perfect size for the setup of his room. Win - Win!!

I purchased 2 to keep on low when working from home to temper noise from neighbors. One is ok when charged or plugged in. The other one will not work unless it is plugged in. I charged it for a long time thinking it needed to be fully charged in order to work, but to no avail. It only works when plugged in. One is on a windowsill and other is on my desk near a window, yet both are not very clear in terms of reception, just ok. I do not see these lasting. They have a nice weight, so I gather the speaker is quite good, although I do not turn up volume loud.

I was seeking exactly this kind of device for a recent trip, but I'm finding I'm very much enjoying it at home, too. I appreciate its various connections (including of course bluetooth), its rechargeability, the dial tuning (it's quite sensitive, even though there is only one dial -- not an additional fine-tuning dial), the availability of not only AM and FM radio but also a bit of shortwave (!), its light weight, and its low price. The sound quality is surprisingly good for its price and weight. I also happen to like the retro look. Of course nobody should expect high-end hardware at this low price point. Anyway -- highly recommended! p.s. I also own a costly Bose portable mini soundlink. Yes its sound is better. But it's also heavier, and it doesn't include a radio! Non-digital radio access is still desirable.
