Our aging dog needs a little bit of help getting into the car these days, so I've tried a few other ramps - and this one is HANDS DOWN the best ramp of them all. He rides in the back seat of our mid-size SUV (not in the back of the car), so I needed to find one that was pretty narrow - 15-16" max.I first tried the WeatherTech ramp, but it didn't have enough grip for him. Then I tried one that had more of a gritty surface, which was a little better, but not much - and it was a bit hard on his paws. This one is perfect for him. It's super easy for him to walk up on - without needing a running start and without slipping - and he has tons of grip, but it's super soft on his paws. It's incredibly well made, sturdy, folds up easily, and unfolds with the press of a small button. The handle makes it easy to transport and it fits really well in the trunk. I can't say enough good things about this ramp. My dog loves it - and it's made getting him in and out of the car SOOO much easier!

This has helped my aging dog get into my truck. It is sturdy (he weighs 60 lbs), and easy to use. Fits well folded behind the front seat. The carpet give great grip and is securely screwed down.My dog can’t make the full jump into my truck anymore. This ramp is NOT long enough that he can just walk in and get on the seat—it’s too short to do that with a full size truck. I can’t say how far it would reach for a car, I suspect if it did make it to the seat, it would be pretty steep. Just mentioning this so you know to measure carefully and also realize if your dog can’t jump at all, you’re going to need a pretty long ramp.As it is, I put it on the step bar on the truck, and my dog easily leaps the extra couple feet to the truck seat. This ramp reduces his jump distance by about 2 feet. It maybe that I’ll need a longer ramp if he gets to a point he can’t jump from the ramp to the seat.

This product is not good for large older dogs. I bought this for my older German Shepherd a few years ago. Her back legs had become arthritic & a bit wobbly in her old age. This ramp is just too narrow for most medium & large dogs. There’s no side support at all to make them feel safe. I always held her close while she was on it & almost every time I had to act fast to keep her from going off the sides. After a few times she was scared of it. I put it in the garage & forgot about it. I now have another older German Shepherd with the same back leg issues & decided to use it, forgetting how narrow it was. This dog is a bit larger & I wouldn’t dare put her on it. I wound up ordering a wheel chair ramp which is 30” wide. I’ve looked for wider dog ramps but they’re all so narrow. I would definitely not recommend any of these dog ramps for any dog that has mobility issues. Not just this product, but all the ramps I see made for dogs. They say these are made for large dogs but they can be very dangerous because of the narrow width & lack of side support. Like walking on a balance beam with bad legs. The product itself is sturdy & well made, great traction, but the width & lack of safety features just really boggle my mind. I found 1 ramp that was 20” wide. Still not wide enough & is the same price as the 30” wheelchair ramp I just ordered. If you’ve got a large dog, just get a wheel chair ramp. Your dog will be much safer.

Our12 years old, 11 lbs dog has some difficulty going up and down couple of slippery hardwood stairs. She didn't want to use the ramp at first. She was scared to go up on it and when going down, she slipped at the bottom when she got on our hardwood floor and faceplanted as she run down the ramp. We placed a flat dog bed under the lower end to provide soft nonslip landing and now she is using it just fine. It took her about a month to be comfortable with it. We are using it only for 2 steps, not sure how steep it would get if used for more steps. There is a screw on the underside of the top end which scratched our hardwood floor on the top step. I taped over it which solved the problem. It is a good ramp, I would buy it again. Thinking about getting a second one for other steps in our house.

We use this for our 25lb Frenchie and our 16lb miniature dachshund who both developed back problems as they aged beyond 13 & 11 year old respectively and stairs were problematic and would injure them. This was an excellent product for the following reasons:1. It’s lightweight, sturdy, and easily portable.(folds to about 4’ when closed, and comes with a handle).2. It’s carpeted with artificial grass for great traction in wet or snowy weather & really helpful in general making climb is easier.3.It’s easily attachable to suv carrying space and to stairs and comes with sturdy anchoring stakes for installation on grass at the bottom of deck stairs.4. When opened to it’s full length, it’s about 8’ long and provides a reasonable incline grade for a dog to walk up. It’s great for up to seven to eight standard stairs.*The carpet will wear after several years (4-5) but it’s well worth the investment!

Great product. I use two of them to load my power wheel chair (60 lb.) into the car when no-one is available to assist me. They are strong , but easy to handle, and fold up into a reasonably compact bundle.

I bought this ramp to help my two dogs get in and out of our SUVs. My Labrador is 13 years old, 50 lb., and very arthritic so unable to get into or out of the car on her own. My Black Russian Terrier pup at 6 months weighs 70 lb., and has plenty of weight gain ahead! She will need to be spayed some time in the near future. This ramp is the perfect solution for both dogs. It is a bit narrow but they have learned to use it. It is sturdy enough that it will be able to withstand the adult weight of my BRT.Both dogs were very hesitant at first to use the ramp but with a little training on the steps, and regular use with the vehicles, they are both now comfortable using it. The artificial turf surface appears to be comfortable for them to walk on, and cleans easily. From my perspective, the ramp opens and closes very easily, it can be secured to the vehicles to prevent slippage as the dogs move up and down, and it stores as compactly as could be expected.

I have a Chevy Trailblazer and my 1 year old lab took to it pretty quickly, with some encouragement (treats). He weighs 65 pounds and won't jump in on his own due to surgery on his elbow. I like that it's no slip. He can dig his claws in to provide traction. For safety, I do keep him on a short leash while he's on the ramp. It holds tight to the bumper and doesn't slip, with or without the safety clip, which is a good fail safe, so definitely use it. The tailgate needs to be open to attach the safety clip, and it's a little difficult to unfold the ramp and connect it with one hand while I'm trying to control the dog with the other hand. I found that he won't wait for me to set it up when he wants to exit the truck, so I don't use it to get him out. If I were to use the ramp for exiting, I would need to keep it in the front seat, so I can set it up before opening the tailgate, then hope he gives me time to connect the safety clip before he gets out. If you have a patient dog that won't jump out on his own, you could easily use it for exiting the vehicle. I find it's just easier to lower him to ground while gripping his harness, but it works great for getting him in and totally saves my back. All in all, a good quality product and I recommend it.
