This is a fairly nice and simple little kit for installing flooring, and finding a specialized kit at this kind of a price is pretty good. The kit itself is a little smaller than I'd expected, with the mallet being a bit more diminutive than I'd thought it would be. However, it seems well-made, and the pull bar is especially of fairly good quality. The ruler is a little flimsy, but for light work it's fine and you're probably not buying it mainly for the ruler anyway. No real complaints so far.

The kit is pretty complete, plenty of spacers to get you started, a decent mallet, block and lever, but for me at least my favorite item was the folding metric measuring stickโฆ I regularly need metric and as my wife put it as she saw it, the smile on my face says it all. While not a new concept or stranger to it by any means, in America we typically rely on tape measures and for the most part those are almost always in inches, anyone from Europe that has missed this style of measuring it too will put a smile on your face. Sorry for geeking out over the one thing that most Americans will probably find least useful, which is Ironic as I am American, but have lived in Europe and absolutely miss certain things intrinsic to there.

I would have been in trouble without this kit! Ok, so ours was a vinyl plank installation, not laminate. That said, this kit has a good number of parts in it.The hammer is by far the best part. The head is made of a material that will get beat up as you use it, but that's because it is intentionally soft. You don't want to damage the surface of your floor. We used this thing to tap in well over 100 planks with no apparent damage. Not sure if laminate would be different, but it would most likely work fine.The next best tool is the hook tool which allows you to reverse-tap around the edge of the room. This saved our bacon MANY times.I didn't end up using the block because I wanted to use the same brand as the floor planks to make sure nothing got broken. The shims were semi-useful, but due to the groove we have around the perimeter of our room they didn't work so well. If you've got a room without a groove around the edge (that is, a clean right angle), these would probably work great.The measuring device was not very useful. Besides being metric, it can't compete with a tape measure and it's a bit awkward to unfold and use.So yes, there are a couple of parts in this kit that you might not use. But for the price, the hammer and hook tool are extremely useful and totally worth it. And who knows, in your case those additional parts might be helpful too!

Great Laminate kit for DIY flooring projects. Good quality tools, a metric ruler and everything works as advertised. I recommend it.

The set works as intended. The only item in the kit that I really wouldn't use is the ruler. I've got plenty of tape measures that are a bit more convenient. Otherwise, the set is what I needed for my install.

I installed some plank flooring in a rental property. I used my typical construction tools as I didnโt have anything specific to installing plank flooring. That was a couple years ago. This year I had to make some repairs to the flooring and had this set. I can say, having this set made things much easier. Specially the pull bar made it much easier with the repair I was doing. Definitely recommend if doing flooring.
