I think this is a really interesting item. Its main advantage is that it is compact, particularly with USB-C power, which means it might be usable in some very particular situations that require 4-to-1 or some other network setup. As others have noted, the utility of the USB-C power will vary depending on what you want to plug it into. Older USB ports on a PC (especially 2.x) are likely to be less than what is specified. The documentation seems very limited, and I don't understand how this is a splitter vs. any other passive switch. I am curious what is the difference between the upstream and downstream connections, but I'm not sure. And I won't look into it, for the following reason:What is the purpose of this? I am very happy with this product, but there is no use-case or niche for it, as far as I can tell, unless you very specifically need something in this exact physical size (it's maybe 10-20% smaller than a name-brand 5-port switch) or needing USB power (which can be achieved for most name-brand routers with a third-part adapter or replacement power cable). A name-brand 5-port proper unmanaged switch can be had for the same price as this one. That being said, this particular product does its job just fine. Overall, I'm happy to give it 4/5 stars, with one star off for a very questionable value proposition, as well as lingering questions about how this is a 4-to-1 device and not just a regular 5-way switch. Maybe one day I'll do a tear-down and try to figure it out, in which case I'll update my review.

I work from Hm and my company wants us to run a direct Lan connection. Makes sense for a bunch of reasons. I also have 2 of my own computers running in that room along with another Big Screen TV that also has a Lan port (Yes yes, I blocked Co access to my hm stuff :-D ) . Anyway watching live sports sometimes causes the streaming service to down grade to 720p to lessen buffering & jitter. I also love to watch YouTube stuff in 4k, and the buffering would drive me crazy ! So I got some Cat6 & Cat7 cables, and ran everything in that room via Lan. With this nifty gadget I'm able to run 3 computers and a direct Lan to the TV. Have had zero issues. Love it. Thanks Amazon

I needed to get hard wired connections to a different part of the house to be able to setup a few devices that needed RJ45 and this did the job! I had a bad able which was only getting about 80 down and after swapping this in with a new cable, all devices now get around 900 down! Great price for this small, light weight switch that does what it is supposed to do. I highly recommend and would buy it again.

I needed a way to connect multiple devices to my internet, and this splitter did the trick. I have a desktop, a gaming console, and sometimes even a laptop, and I was tired of constantly unplugging and replugging the ethernet cable — what a pain. Now, everything stays connected; I just plug in the single cable from the router and then run cables to each device. The speed is great too; I haven't noticed any lag or slowdowns, even when multiple devices are in use at the same time 🚀. It was super easy to set up; all I had to do was plug everything in, and it started working right away; I'm not the most tech-savvy person, so that was a huge plus; I'm pretty happy with this little gadget; it's made my life so much easier; I’m not sure why I waited so long to get this.

I recently switched to our mobile phone provider for our internet. Their promotional price was considerably cheaper than our cable company had become. I used a router/gateway of our own for the cable connection, however the mobile phone company has their own equipment to use for no additional cost. So rather than use my own router/gateway, I switched to the mobile phone company modem. This is why I now needed a splitter since the modem that was provided only had two ethernet cable slots.I purchased the RJ45 Network Splitter Adapter 1to4 with limited expectations. This wasn't a brand I instantly recognized, and the fact that it was made in China made me a little hesitant. The price was good, so I thought I'd try it. I've purchased cords, cables, and other smaller technology purchases that don't need brand name backing before with mixed results, so I was aware of what I could be getting. When I ordered the product, it came in the expected timeframe. When I opened the box, it had very minimal packaging, just the splitter and USB cable in a plastic bag. However, the box wasn't damaged nor did the plastic bag that was inside the box have any sign of damage so the packaging was adequate. There was a sheet with directions on it for how to use the splitter, but the lettering was so small it could barely be read. This particular piece of equipment is almost self-explanatory so the directions aren't really necessary. This product didn't include any ethernet cables, so be aware of that. This product also didn't include a plug for the power source. There is the USB cable that plugs into the AV slot, but it doesn't contain the little dongle that plugs into a surge protector or other plug-in.Once I had procured some more ethernet cables and an extra dongle for the plug-in, I put it together. Neither the USB that came with the splitter or the splitter itself were low quality. Nothing was loose and I didn't fear being shocked when I plugged it in. It worked just fine. Once it was plugged in, all of the lights lit up and the cables directed the flow of the internet the way it was supposed to go. I didn't see any slow down of speed other than issues that I already had with the mobile phone company connection. I doubt it if I would purchase this particular product again, but only because I was annoyed by the extra need for the power source. I like a minimal amount of cables. Otherwise, the splitter worked just fine.
