I like how protected these glass tubes are, in foam padding inside a metal box with a hinged lid. They're perfect for home or artistic projects.

I got these for a friend that comes over and like to have a beer or 2 while we play corn hole. This friend is a germophobe or slightly on the spectrum. Maybe both. He will only drink using a glass straw. His lips can not touch a can or bottle nor will he drink out of any straw that is not clear. I have offered metal straws that i have but he will not touch them because he does not know if the inside of the straw is clean. Our friend is a super nice guy and talented so we put up this little tic of his. Well I ordered these glass tubes one night and figured we would have a surplus for him when he comes over. When they arrived I knew I had screwed up. But they packaged very nicely and well protected in foam and a nice metal case. All tubes were in perfect condition. Where I screwed up was the length of the tube. They measure just under 5 inches. They are also pretty thick. Unfortunately they will not be long enough to drink out of once inside the glass. Fear not, another friend that is pretty artistic and has done some glass blowing said he can elongate or stretch out the glass no problem. Even add some curves or twists if I wanted. That would be cool but im sure broken pretty quickly. Figuring a blow torch would work, I went to the garage to get mine. I was told that a regular propane torch wont get the area that needs to be stretched out hot enough. So the next day my friend brought some real glass blowing equipment he had. He fired it up and yeah, much hotter and the head was larger and wider than a regular torch and he had tongs and other tools. in a couple minutes he had the first straw finished and stretched out to 9 1/2 inches which was perfect. After it cooled it was still pretty thick and felt durable. Friend was so stoked he didn't have to bring his straw from home now. He has plenty of back up when he comes over now and that makes him happy and thats what friends do for friends.

Using these for a craft project and so far, they're working unbelievably well. I've dropped a few of them a decent distance - probably 4 feet onto hardwood flooring - and they didn't break. That's unheard of nowadays.

These borosilicate tubes are flawless and come in a container that tells you you're not messing with regular glass here. It comes with perfect glass tubes with all all the unique properties of borosilicate glass the backup their durability claim. They're super clear, too. Excellent! I highly recommend them.
