Product Description

GlowShift Transmission & Oil Pan Temperature Sensor Adapter Kits make it possible to install a sensor directly into your car or truck’s transmission pan or oil pan to monitor oil temperatures. This kit includes everything you need for the process with a 1/8-27 NPT Temperature Sensor Adapter; Nylon Washer, Nut and a Plug. If you don't want to use this adapter for a temperature sensor, it can also be used as a drain plug for the transmission or oil pan.

GS-FA-02 Installed

Mark and drill the location on the oil pan using a 1/2” drill bit. Slide the fitting inward from the outside and place the supplied gasket and nut on the outside. Using (2) 19mm wrenches tighten the fitting, making sure not to distort the gasket. Install a new gasket on the pan and reinstall according to manufacturer specifications. Thread in and tighten the temp sensor using a 14mm wrench. Make sure to use Teflon tape on the threads. Route the temperature sensor harness through an opening in the firewall and secure the hose with zip ties.

The only draw back is the nylon seal. A better seal is a soft copper washer or a soft aluminum washer. Your local Ace hardware carries both.

I installed in my 2008 wrangler with the 42rle. Trans likes to run hot and wanted to monitor it while towing. I didn't take any chances with the plastic washer and bought a copper one instead. I also coated it with rtv really well. No leaks so far!
