This product is almost perfect. If you stay within the triangles it works great, however if you go beyond the triangles it causes and X in the frame. Recommend a stopper in the system to cause this issue from happening. It does not slip and stays where you place it which is good

My wedding shoot wouldn’t have been as magical without this super affordable filter. I didn’t have that much hope when ordering this filter because I previously bought a B+W worth over $100 and it had nasty X crosses in broad daylight. This Gobe, surprised me with the quality and ease of use and every time I twist that ring, it would give me a big smile. Highly recommended!

I have tried a ton Of ND filters ex:tiffen/k&f etc you name it. Even their so called “multi coated” versions are terrible because they cause so much glare because of the weak or lack of anti reflective coating so they cause TERRIBLE hazing and flaring. I bought this and the Urth branded versions and they are so clear and have such great contrast even in the most challenging backlit shooting conditions. And the best part is the price. Honestly even better than the Peter McKenna multistop variable NDs

Several people have mentioned that these have bad image clarity in the reviews I have seen online. I wanted to clear this up and say that the video quality on my camera is almost exactly the same with or without the filter. However, the reason some people might be saying that these filters lessen image quality is because haze develops on the inside of the filter lenses. All you have to do is give them a good cleaning and they will perform as desired! Make sure to look at your filter in direct sunlight to see if any haze has developed and you can find YouTube videos that will show you how to clean the inside of your ND filter. I got these for 15 bucks each and I think that is an abolso lute steal for the quality of ND filter that these are. Color casting is not really an issue if you adjust white balance accordingly. Great concept, great brand, great product!

I've been wanting to try Gobe filters for quite some time because of their campaign to plant trees with a purchase. My first order came in and I was a little disappointed that there were spots in between the glass layers on the coating. I returned it and got a replacement that was perfect. So, perhaps it was a fluke.Overall, it's a great filter. I did knock down the score a little because, even though it comes in a nice box and tin, it seems to be a one-size-fits-all tin and the smaller filter rattles around inside. I'll probably invest in a filter wallet at some point, but for now, it's a minor concern that it's banging around in the tin inside my camera case.Image quality is fantastic and does exactly what I need.Just be sure you aren't trying to put one on a really wide angle lens...and this is due to optical science, not the construction of the filter. For reference, I tried it on a Rokinon 12mm f2.0 on my BMPCC 4K and it can only utilize about 1/2 the range before starting to get vignetting and the X pattern is extremely prominent at max setting.Otherwise, on other lenses I have, the X is only visible when you go beyond max. It would be nice to have a hard stop at maximum and minimum, but not a deal breaker.I have bought a second filter from Gobe and I plan on buying more when the time comes.

I was worried about buying a variable ND because so many have the problem with the x after it gets so dark. I don't notice it on this one at all. Great filter!

I bought this filter to use with my Tamron 18-400mm Lens for my Nikon D5600 DSLR camera and I am extremely satisfied with it. No distortion, or blurring when using the max zoom, and I get a crystal clear image! The description of the filter does caution about the use of this with Telephoto Lens, but when I tested the filter on my Tamron 18-400mm Lens at least in quick tests, it is working amazingly!I love the aluminum case it comes in, and the cleaning cloth is a good cloth that comes with it. Plus for every filter you buy 5 trees are planted. I am definitely getting more filters from Gobe.
